Star Trek: The Experience

Has anynone else been to The Hilton in Las Vegas? Star Trek: The Experience RULES.

Apparently, it's Paramount's only year-round theme park complete with an attraction, a museum, stores, a restaraunt, a bar that is a replica of Quark's on DS9, etc. It is awesome!

I drank an expensive drink in the bar called a "warp core breach" that was a mixture of 7 different types of rum and got SMASHED. It was awesome. I didn't appreciate the Klingon hitting on my girlfriend though...

Anyway, I highly recommend this to anyone going to Vegas. Just awesome.

Neo, not only that but they bring it to you in this alien looking bowl thing that is smoking and fuming because of the dry ice inside. It is HUGE! Great drink too.

Other drinks include the Tamarian Sunset, the James Tea Kirk, etc. Everything there is great.

Oh yes, the actors are pretty good too. One Ferengi came up to me and decided to explain to me why "females and finances don't mix." It was great.

Sounds like fun, my mom would love it. Do they have the gambling game from DS9(name eludes me at the moment).

And whats in the museam?

No, there is no Dabo table. I guess because the casino potion of the hotel begins right outside of the Star Trek area. They should put on in there; it IS Las Vegas for Christ's sake.

In the museum are many of the original props from all of the series and the movies. Off of the top of my head, I remember seeing uniforms, the Borg Queen skull and spine that Picard broke, the silver probe/robot thing that was on TOS (the name of it escapes me at the moment... a real famous prop though) phasers, etc. There are thousands of items. The areas are divided by races and cultures too, so there is a Borg area, a Klingon area, etc.

By the way, if anyone is interested in seeing the REAL bridge and sections of engineering that were used in the TNG, they are in a small and little known museum in Hollywood that is right down the street from the walk of fame. The Cheers bar is also in there.

You don't actually eat the dry ice. :?

Yeah, I was there last July. For what it was, it was cool. The little ride was fun, had to do it twice to get my money's worth. The "museum" was more like a series of gift shops strung together. The Klingons wondering around were very entertaining. The merchendice was way OVERPRICED, but hey it was a tourist trap in Las Vegas so.....

I've had dry ice in my mouth before, it kind of hops around too fast to cause any damage.

When I went, the museum was on the way to the ride. Maybe they're changed it.

They should rename that drink Bloodwine.

Bloodwine was a different drink. They had Romulan Ale too.

Romulan Ale? But that's illegal in the Federation! :P

My bust, you were talking about the ST timeline and the props on the top floor. I though you were talking about the various museun/giftshops below. Never bought anything at the bar but spent some duckets at the casino. IIRC they wanted like two grand for a somewhat decent Klingon outfit  and various "original" props were in the high hundreds to thousands too.

Great ride but it was expensive. I paid for the special where I get to ride the star trek and the atlantis experience. Very well done and realistic

Well since I'll be moving to Vegas in about a month, I guess I'll be seeing this place soon. :D

I envy you, Captain. Quark's bar rules!

Yeah, I went to the ST Experience a few years back...it was quite cool! I especially liked the huge ship replicas they had hanging fromt he ceiling.

I had my picture taken with a ferengi there....quite amusing. I remember him making a photo suggestion: (in raspy voice) "Here! Let's shake hands like we just made a deal!"

Didn't go to Quark's though.....but did see a few Klingons and Bajorans walking around.

Lot's of fun, wouldn't mind doing it again.

Now only if they'd make a NEW Star Wars show. Or update the old one...

I went and I loved it. I wish I could have gotten to sit in the captain's chair, but oh well. Still really cool. If you're willing to shell out a couple thousand dollars, you can have a wedding on the bridge. Or something like that.

But man, that gift shop... the lithographs are cheap, but they fucking nail you on the frames... of cousre, they're funky sized, so it's damn hard finding a frame that fits outside the damn shop...
