The Enterprise as seen in TMP goes up against the three Klingon ships from the beginning of the movie. Who wins?

Two intact and one severely damaged K't'inga class battlecruisers emerge from a boiling cloud of hot gasses. Just a guess, but seems sensible.

One K'tinga destroyed. One slightly damaged.

I go with one distroyed and one damaged Kirk is good but three to one odds are difficult to overcome .Some of the SFB gamers here could give you a better picture

Part of the reaosn why in the Kobayashi Maru you have an attack by three K'tingas on the Enterprise is because there was almost no way to win against those odds. It was safe to say that three K'tingas could overwhelm a Consitition class refit. One on One, invariably the Connie would win but with three, it was near impossible, thus a no win situation.

Which version of reality? I ~think~ its offically '3 K'Tinga's to 1 Connie', but if you go by the SFB converstions, and are very generous (fully refitted F-CA hull... IE the dreaded F-CB, a BCH by any other name...) and say that the 3 Klinks are basic D7K's (Id go for unrefitted D7s, but all the D7s should have at LEAST the K refit by the time the F-CB enters service...) then the Fed boat goes down, and may cripple one Klink before he does. If the Klinks are stupid.

So... scratch match, or Fed Dies, depending on which vision of TOS reality you prefer.

The Ent-A is actually supposed to be a CX by SFB's descriptions, but that might mean the K'Tingas are DXs, I seem to remember them being a newer model of ship from the novelisation of TMP.

Id say thats what they are the Ent refit is a CX the K`Tinga is the Klingon DX then that means the Reliant may be an NCLX? a New light cruiser x ship? because it looked more like an NCL than a FF

When it comes to SFB, there are things man was not meant to know of.

The first run of X ships was one of those things.

Ergo, I have trouble rembering they exist.

Kirk didn't even try to fight against three Klingon cruisers in The Enterprise Incident.

IIRC when Scotty took the Kobayashi Maru test he decided to engage the Klingon ships in combat. He was doing so good and killing so many Klingon ships that the last wave that came at him was 12 Klingon ships. Scotty really is a miracle worker. :)

What was the episode of TOS where Kirk was planetside and Scotty was left in command facing a Klingon ship?
He showed balls then, an underrated tactician, that Scotty. Too bad by ST5 and his appearance on TNG he was reduced almost to comic relief, his more serious side being downplayed.

"Friday's Child." Kirk and McCoy are negotiating with a group of primitives that would make great basketball players while having to deal with klingons at the same time. McCoy delivers one of the giant's babies which is subsequently named after McCoy and Kirk.

The Amar and sister ships oughta whip the E-nil very
soundly.

An early script for TMP had the Klingon ships coming out of
V'Ger to fight the E-nil. They managed to blast the engineering
section to hull, but the saucer flew off and won the battle (?).
Weird! I'm glad they dropped that, though it might've been
neat to show these three ships--or at least one of them--intact,
"digitized" inside V'Ger, to add some action sometime toward
the middle of the film.

Another point of interest: you know how most often assume
that Klingon shields are inferior to Federation counterparts?
In TMP, it's actually the other way around, or at least it's
very, very close...during the first scene at the Epsilon observation
station, we see the Klingons under attack, and we see one
ship violently shudder from the vantage point of its bridge.

If it shuddered so, it must've been struck by a V'Ger energy
torpedo thing. It didn't survive the hit we see onscreen,
but then again, the Enterprise wasn't to have survived
hit no. two either.

Kinda neat.

I'd expect one destroyed or badly damaged, and the Enterprise destroyed. N squared owns clever tactics.

The last wave attacking Scotty was actually described as being fifteen Dreadnaughts, but the ship class might have been hyperbole on the author's part.
As a note, against the incredibly biased simulation computers, Scotty killed seventeen ships, and might have made that thirty-two if he had a real crew. For the sacrifice of one Constitution class, that would have given the Federation a hell of a starting boost in the ensuing war. Hell, it might have impressed the Klingons enough to get them to stop and form an alliance decades early.

what episode was it that Scotty took the Kobiyashi Maru? I don't remember that at all.

Nice sig. Obviously, you're too fucking stupid to recognize what suspension of disbelief is. Do you also scoff at people who watch war movies and complain about improper use of weapons or unrealistic explosions? When the grenade goes off under Arnold's feet (without killing him) in "Commando" and people say that's stupid, do you scream "get a life, it's just fiction?"

Perhaps I shouldn't ask; maybe you do.

Actually since you asked ass-hat  . It is entirely possible to be in close proximity to a grenade when it goes off and not be injured, but not likely at all. I don't like the grenades that explode in huge fireballs because that is not what they look like when they detonate, but it is only a movie so I don't actually let it bother me unlike some people that appear to. As for Arnold standing on exploding grenades, well the man is Conan the Barbarian and killed a bear with his hands in Central Park, why not be impervious to grenades too?

You're one of the colorful idiots who doesn't comprehend that a degree of common sense must be seen in things.

The fact you're ignorant to science and that it is sense for us and not for you does not affect our conclusion.

Your stupidity is irrelevent to the analysis.

Holy shit, I think Death From the Sea can bend the Matrix to his will- nobody dodges a question that fast.

I believe it is a reference to a book (entitled Kobiyashi Maru), and therefore not canon. It was one of the TOS novels released in the '80s and detailed the results of Kirk's, Chekov's, Scotty's, and Sulu's Kobiyashi Maru tests. In the book Scotty used his knowedge of the simulator to allow him to take out multiple Klingon battlegroups.
