Anyone know anything about Riker's new command, the Titan? Or have pictures of it? I'm just curious.

There is no information on the Tintan other then that Riker now commands it and Troi is the new ships counselor.

What class of ship did everyone envision it to be?
I saw it as an Akira for some reason.

I was rather hoping it was a Nova...

With his record of combat (note, I have not seen Nemisis yet) I hope he got an explorer and a deep survey mission.

I think that it's probably a war-designed Galaxy Class starship. Either that or maybe even another Sovereign.

How about an Intrepid?
With a mission to retrace Voyager's journey, and establish diplomatic missions throught Beta & Gamma Quadrant

No! It's a Dauntless class

Hopefully a mission against a malfunctioning, obsolescent Enterprise era Romulan warbird, where the evil Romulans in their antique attack Riker, where he proceeds to get pummeled for 30 minutes while he tries to figure out a solution that invovles ionic pulses, plasma coils, and cloaking devices, rather than just firing his goddamn weapons.
He wins, only to have the entire ship explode, taking him with it.
Yes, I hate Riker.

I Doubt that a newly promoted captain would be given a galaxy class streight off the bat. If I remember correctly, he was offered a captaincy during the series of an Excelsior class. Concidering the sheer number of these the Federation must still ahve around, I would guess that an excelcior would be the logical choice.
Then again, this IS starfleet!

in 'Best of Both Worlds' he was offered command of the USS Melborne, a newly christened Nebula class starship. Shortly thereafter it was destroyed at Wolf 359.

Didn't we see ALL of the ships Riker was offered destroyed at Wolf 359?
Kinda interesting that all of his prospective commands were destroyed...

Perhaps it's a war GCS or a Nebula.

I would supose, and supose I will, that with the loses of the Dominion war Starfleets inventory of older ship would be some what depleated. If I remember the DS9 visuals right, the Excellciors and Relients did not fare well against more modern ships.
Riker will probably get a Trek wankfest ship, but either way it should and would probably be a newer design.

I personally see an Ambassador in my mind.

I doubt it will be anything smaller or older than a Galaxy class. I say this because Riker has turned down enough commands that only a very impressive or important command will finally get into the captains chair.

Uh, considering how pissed the resident's gonna be at Janeway, it may not be the best idea to send a ship that looks just like Voyager through the same area.
The point of diplomacy is, after all, to talk, and that's difficult if the aliens constantly insist on opening fire.

Well, let's just say Starfleet briefing doesn't mention all the aliens Janeway pissed... Just a pat on the back and good luck...
After all, he has been extremely expensive to Starfleet, hasn't he? (of course, being a "comunist" state, money is no matter, but still...)

In that case, Send Riker and Janeway both.

I'm pretty sure the Melbourne was an Excelsior, not a Nebula.

Back when different versions of the script were being leaked, I think different sources listed the Titan as either a Galaxy or a Sovereign. If he got a Galaxy, it would actually be to his advantage, because he's spent years serving on one, so he would know it's ins and outs. Also, the name Titan seems to support the Galaxy class possibility.
