most creative use of treknobabble? anyone?
my vote is the 'metagenic' weapon. Cardassians use threat of treknobabbliffic doo-hickey weapon of mass destruction to lure Picard into a trap. (see: good old fashoned gunfight) The plan being to keep him prisoner and distract the federation from an impending attack from cardie battle fleet.

I'd say the transporter with a 40,000 lightyear range in ST: Voyager.

Enterprise Nil/A-
"I'm givin' her all sheez got!"
"Captain, I doooon't have tha power!"
Enterprise D/E=
"Captain, the amount of dilithium contained the the warp core is diminishing at a rate cause by increased power consumption directly related to the current situation. The only thing I can think of would be to modulate the field capactiors so that they would draw in the photgenic radiations from the engery cluster formed by the metabubonic dust accumulating along the entitys breach phase matrix. Hopefully none of the ensigns sneezes within 20 meters of the warp core though it could destabilizate the polar influctation grid systems and...Data why did you bring that cat down here you know i'm allergic to...ACHOO!"
*Enterprise explodes explodes*

I liked the DS9 two-parter 'Past Tense', one of those bonehead time-travel jaunts in which all of Starfleet vanished but the Defiant and its crew remained because "the singularity that polarized the chromaton particles created some kind of subspace bubble around the ship". (We also imagined the Defiant crew, upon learning that Starfleet was gone, exclaiming, "But what about our pensions!", but that's for another post...

The best is the simplest, most streamlined passage:
Mr. Scott, reverse polarity on your magnetic probe.
Reverse polarity?! That'll take some doin'. And I can't see what it'll accomplish—
Please proceed, I'll explain. You were correct in your "feel". The Enterprise was placed through a molecular transporter and reassembled slightly out of phase. Reverse polarity should seal the incision.
Never mind your theories. Just hope this works...wait —IT'S STUCK!

This question is oxymoronic. There is no such thing as creative use of treknobabble. Treknobabble is used specifically as a substitute for creativity; its purpose is to fill airtime with meaningless jargon. The script writer actually put <TECH> in their stories and get the tech advisors to fill them in with meaningless jibberish.

well then maybe i didn't phrase the question properly. Lets ask for the most amusing use of treknobabble.
