So who is your favourite Star Trek Doctor and why?

I'm going to have go with McCoy myself, those arquments with Spock, fear of the transporter, pretty good acting from Kelley helped to give the charecter some depth and then there is the fact that I'm a TOS fan. + He called creation according to Genesis a myth.

Bones six ways to Sunday. Unlike others, he just said "He's dead Jim." and didn't try for three days to bring that person back.

McCoy all the way.

Most of us agree McCoy is the best doctor in the history of Star Trek.

There's something to be said for the EMH series when they can look at a Borg Drone and prescribe an analgesic cream
But seriously, who the hell is going to vote for Phlox? He looks far too much like the doctor from Galaxy Quest... hell, Enterprise seems too much like a failed TV version of Galaxy Quest.

So nothing you've discovered here has any practical value?
Well, who knows? It may cure the common cold. But lengthen lives? POPPYCOCK! I can do more for you if you eat right and exercise regularly
—"The Omega Glory"
It worked! By golly, Jim, I'm beginning to think I can cure a rainy day!
Can you help it?
Help it? I healed it. You know that silicon compound we use for constructing emergency shelters? I simply had the ship beam down fifty pounds of the stuff and I just trowled it into the wound. It acts as a bandage.
—"Devil In The Dark"
I'm preparing a medical log entry, on my estimation of the physical and emotional breakdown of a starship captain. Which requires a witness of command grade.
—"Obsession"
If you can certify Commodore Decker physically or psychologically unfit for command, I can relieve him under section C.
I'll certify that RIGHT NOW!
—"The Doomsday Machine"
My God! Drillin' holes in this boy's head isn't going to help; the artery must be sealed. Now put away your butcher knives and let me heal this patient.
—Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Leonard McCoy. The only credible medicine-man of the entire bunch.

Nurse Ogawa!!

My vote's for Bones

It's a tie between McCoy and EMH, they both had humor and seriousness to them. Pulaski should've been burned at the stake.

Bashier was pretty good, too, but he only really came into his own when doing things other than playing station doctor. McCoy and the EMH were both good as doctors but Bashier was IMO a better rounded character overall.

McCoy, of course, is the sentimental favorite, and he gets bonus points for not using technobabble nearly as much as the other docs do (can you imagine a TNG era doctor explaining how s/he patched up the Horta).
EMH was a more well-rounded character, and Robert Picardo was probably the best actor out of all of these. I'd probably rank McCoy first and EMH second.
After that, eh, maybe Bashir.
I actually liked Pulaski better than Crusher--Crusher always seemed like an empty uniform, and I don't think Gates McFadden is a very good actress, quite frankly.
Finally, there's ass-head. John Billingsly is actually a good actor, but his character murdered billions of innocent beings in "Dear Doctor" so a bunch of Neanderthals could fulfill there supposed genetic destiny. Plus, he's got an ass on his head. Along with B&B, Michael Westmore needs to be fired, too. No more bumpy forehead aliens.

EMH, I found him way too funny at times.
The Emergency Command Hologram thing was a cool idea too

McCoy - Deforest Kelly simply rocks, I was saddend by his passing...
After McCoy it has to be the EMH, when the technobabble is brushed aside he shines...

Bones got 3/4 of the votes, LOL. Pretty unanimous.
I wonder, would it be possible to make a poll "Your favourite <insert occupation aboard Starfleet ship>?" and not have the TOS contender win?
