Higher-res versions available at the link. I wonder if it has anything to do with this guy working for NASA.

But why did they have to chose the suckiest starship of them all for the background?

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? TNG uniforms with a NX-01 silhouette for a background...
...for a space station mission
It would have made more sense to go with a Deep Space Nine theme

The went for NX-01, I think, because it has the most dramatic top-down silhouette.

Is it the Enterprise or the Akira?

The significant number of average to terrible episodes, and largely uninvolving characters aside, the NX-class was not a badly designed and asthetically unpleasing ship actually (it infamously bore a striking resemblance to the Akira-class).Thanas wrote:But why did they have to chose the suckiest starship of them all for the background?

Re: Official crew poster for ISS Exp. XXI
probably the NX-01 (seeing as it's the more visible one of them) but it's (next to) impossible to say from a pic like that.Johonebesus wrote:Is it the Enterprise or the Akira?

Re: Official crew poster for ISS Exp. XXI
It is definitely an NX-01 - the Akira has a very different nacelle silhouette.

Much as I hate the Akiraprize and all it stands for it DOES probably make for the most attractive background. The Nil/A and B/E are too long compared to width and the C and D are too wide across the saucer compared to the rest.
And whose brilliant idea was it to store a bleeping PICTURE as a pdf?

Last I checked you could print graphics files just fine? If that's about actual POSTER-size posters fine, but I don't think people dowload those off the internet all that often. I just didn't expect a 55MB pdf when downloading what I THOUGHT would be a few-MB at worst JPG or suchlike.

Yes, though images with vector content are usually done best with PDF.Batman wrote:Last I checked you could print graphics files just fine?

It's not the first time NASA crews have Treked out:
The crew of a 1993 shuttle mission.
And a 1998 one.

BSG would so send the wrong message: We're going up in a shuttle; we expect you to get nuked by the time we come back. Then we're buggering off to the casino planet.
