Phaser firepower question

What is the min\max firepower shown for ship mounted phasers and the handheld versions?
The reason I'm asking this is that over at clubasvs.net, they seem to think that phasers could damage or take down an ISD's shields. Hell some believed that a runabout could damage a med frigate like the Redemption before it gets blown apart.

IIRC photon torps are concistently described as being stronger shipmounted phasers and photon torps are high KT-low MT their theoretical max being at 64 MT but being consistently seem to have lower actual yields (which is about the same range as starfighter mounted SW munitions (proton torps and such) (though starfighter laser are weaker at single digit KT numbers (per shot))), and as SW starfighters are described to need high numbers or cap ship support to defeat ISD shields, well you can see where this is leading.

Christ, it's not like there's a site with a searchable database attached to this forum or anything.

There are a couple of people who've been railed at for years, but I refuse to smack down the newbie with math until he can demonstrate basic reasoning and the ability to write in english.

Last I checked we have canon figures for ISD shield resilience. Present those. Have fun watching the other side trying to find evidence for phaser firepower that even BEGINS to approach that.

Unfortunately they don't even try. Its more of an "use edge cases to attack the cannon" thing over there.

Color me stupid if you want but I honestly don't know what 'use edge cases to attack the cannon' is supposed to mean.

Use outlier figures i.e situations which give an abnormally low or high figure to attack the canon values.

Sorry. My bad. The second n in cannon confused me.
No, seriously. I'm used to people misspelling canon and can usually tell from context, but this seriously had me wondering if Jason was talking about Trek attacking the turbolaser turrets from oblique angles or whatnot. It never occurred to me he might simply be quoting the common misspelling of canon. Again, my bad.

No, I've got to admit that was me fucking up. No excuse.
It would be really cool if I were trying to be all ironic, but not the truth.
