Random Q thought

Doing some editing on the Q page for the wiki gave me a thought.
The Q Civil War in "The Q and the Gray" caused real-universe stars to go nova. Might that imply that the true source of power for the Q is real-universe stars? And in their conflict they were "over drawing" on the stars they were using, causing premature novas?

Interesting speculation, but I can't see any way to prove it.

True, we know damn little about how the Q powers work.

Not to mention that it *is* possible the entire thing was an elaborate illusion. Well, not really, but my doctor tells me I should keep saying that rather than believe that "The Q and the Grey" actually happened.

That's funny, my psychiatrist keeps telling me the same thing about all of Voyager.

I liked the idea that the Q enter our universe "through" stars, so when the nova occurs and Suzie Q loses her powers, it's because the link back to the power source was broken.
Of course, I base this on next to nothing except Voyager flying into the continuum through a star.

just to spowt out somthing completly stupid but intresting. maybe the star were destroyed because stars are big in the time stream and the Q live in the time stream so stray fire travels back to the star making it go supernova because its imposible to exsist one secound in the future.

The energy source which the Q draw upon for their powers seems to be located within the Continuum and not in the normal 4D universe. The nova flares or actual supernova blasts which were triggered during the civil war may correlate more to however the Continuum intersects ordinary space/time and whatever energies were being expended in battle in the Continuum war zones.

lets examine this.
common nova types.
1a - requires a companion star
1b/c - requires stellar wind
II- The standard candle.
Hypothetical Q things that would affect stars.
1. Screwing around with a physical constant. Stars are in a delicate balance between gravity and pressure.
2. Directly tapping the stars for energy, with black holes/wormholes, shortening their lifespan.
3. Use the stars as a weapon. A type II nova has a higher energy output than the deathstar. This can also be done by dropping in a blackhole.
4. Gotta go help the wife, you're on your own.
