FirstTVDrama reviews Stigma
I was wondering what was taking so long. Turns out, it's his longest review except for his review of "Endgame". Whetstone ripped B&B a new asshole for this one. They bungled continunity, they bungled the allegory, and, as he points out, the B plot for an AIDS episode was a wild sex romp. By the way, check out his ideas for a better AIDS episode. Number 2 would have been downright chilling. Too bad morons write Enterprise.
Richard Whetstone pisses upon "Stigma" from a great height.

Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. And we will probably be judged not by the monuments we build but by those we have destroyed.--Ada Louise Huxtable, "Farewell to Penn Station", New York Times editorial, 30 October 1963

The only things I could criticize about the review would be the occasional typo. Everything else appears to be painfully on target.
Baywatch had better continuity and more storyline coherence than this show, and at least Baywatch was almost honest in exploiting oiled-up epidermal acreage in order to appeal to as many preteens as possible.

The sad thing is that it probably took Richard Whettstone mere seconds to spin off six alternative story ideas, any one of which would have worked very well, just in the course of his pissing all over the Berman Braga monster who probably spent the better part of a week struggling to put out such a crappy script.
And as far as an effective allegory for AIDS goes, Babylon 5 beat these two assholes to the punch years ago with the episode "Confessions And Lamentations".

Look at episodes 49-52.
