2011 Ships of the Line Calendar FYI

I picked up the 2011 Star Trek SOL calendar today and thought I'd warn people about it being a little different. The artwork is fine but the odd thing is that the calendar is done in a wide format. When you unfold it it is meant to be done with one side going to the right and one to the left instead of the typical top/bottom thing. Basically it means you'll need two hooks/nails etc... to hang it properly. It's also more about the artwork than the calendar so if you need a calendar that you can put notes and such for specific days this is not going to work very well for you.
SOL on Amazon
This next one shows the cover image as it appears on the calendar I purchased.
Calendars.com calls it a Panoramic Calendar

I noticed from your link to Amazon, that they are selling a Haynes Manual for all the Enterprises? I find that hilarious.
Nevertheless, it looks quite interesting and I always wanted one. Is there a SW version?

Actually, Calenders.com says it is a standard wall calender with the dimensions being 12in by 24in and that it is a panoramic calender. Confusing?

Pretty much. It's the standard size of most wall calendars except that it is displayed differently.

This is how every single SOL calendar (except 2001) has been done. They are always in wide format. It is not different. It is normal, par for the course.

WTF is up with that Romulan Warbird, the beak looks all jacked up.
edit: Is it...supposed to be vertical?

Best article ever; getting the name of something in your own picture wrong, and hilarious fluff about how good old humans make vulcan shit better just by looking at it.

The main ship in that picture looks like it's supposed to be a different class of Romulan ship than the other two in the picture. It does look like the "wings" are above and below the orientation of the bridge instead of off to the sides like it is with the other two ships.

I didn't remember them being that way for so long but after posting I did recall that I had seen one in that format before.

Yes, it's
supposed to be vertical. The idea behind the picture is that it's a long-range scan, conducted by Starfleet, revealing a rumored massive Romulan "command ship": the big tall bird there is supposed to be 8000 feet long, or 2438 meters.

Not much TNG love. =P
I like the image of a Connie facing off against a Klingon D-7.

There have now been 11 calendars.
2001-2011
10 of them are in wide format (only 2002 was vertical). Your memory is faulty.

I like how they took Probert's initial Warbird design and turned it into a new class of Warbird.

The "vertical" Warbird is in fact designed and illustrated by Andrew Probert.
He contributes to the SOTL calendars.

I saw the Haynes Manual in Barnes and Noble last Friday. It held my attention for about 5 minutes. I guess I was hoping for more depth on Kirk's ship after seeing the cover, but what we got was mostly ST: E and post-TNG. I didn't see a Star Wars version.
Still, it was nice to finally see just how Scotty's warp conduits fit in with the nacelles.
