1:1 scale model ship Enterprise-D in Minecraft

Post by Natorgator »

I don't play Minecraft but I came across this earlier this morning and had to post it here. Someone is creating a full scale replica model of the Enterprise D, with interiors and everything:

Youtube introduction
Updated clip with tours of the shuttle bay, bridge, etc

The scale is staggering, it's neat to see how big it really is from an FPS perspective. The page for the project is here. Thought you guys would enjoy :)

Can one like log into the server and play on it? Like run around the ship and stuff?
It has become clear to me in the previous days that any attempts at reconciliation and explanation with the community here has failed. I have tried my best. I really have. I pored my heart out trying. But it was all for nothing.

You win. There, I have said it.

Now there is only one thing left to do. Let us see if I can sum up the strength needed to end things once and for all.

Too bad it's just Minecraft. The real thing would be great for a paintball game! :)

I wonder if the server allows TNT...

Its the Enterprise, you would have to include TNT if you wanted an accurate representation of their warp core.

Either that or lava.

It's in Minecraft Classic, TNT is just a normal block with a different skin.

This is like, so completely disappointing. Ooooo the real scale of the Enterprise D on my computer screen. I can just go watch TNG.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

I thought it was rather cool, the main shuttle bay was really cool. I mean, come on, not the greatest graphics, especially these days, but still creative and cool.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Sometimes, I love YouTube commenters...'How do you kill that which has no life?'...Priceless
I saw the first video years ago, so it's interesting to see how the thing has developed. Awesome to see a Galaxy-class from a person' POV as well.
Yeah, I've always taken the subtext of the Birther movement to be, "The rules don't count here! This is different! HE'S BLACK! BLACK, I SAY! ARE YOU ALL BLIND!?

Destiny and fate are for those too weak to forge their own futures. Where we are 'supposed' to be is irrelevent.
