Warp 10 question

I was wondering, when people go at Warp 10, and heoretically occupy all points in the univrse simultaneously, should the ship be destroyed from the ramming?
Shouldn't the universe be somewhat damaged?

It's Star Trek, you can't explain it. It's like trying to explain the 'crack' in a black hole's event horizon from Voyager.

I just pretend that "Threshold" never happened, it's just too stupid even for a Voyager episode.

Perhaps in going to Warp 10 the ship shifts into a phase/dimension so that it can occupy every place in our universe without damaging anything. Yes, that is as stupid as it sounds.

"Threshold" is so inconcievably stupid that I refuse to recognize it as Star Trek canon. Therefore, your question is moot.

"Threshold" is not too stupid for a Voyager episode. Nothing is too stupid for that show. After all, they introduced Talaxians. Talaxians... Ex Laxians... Hmm, that's not really funny.

You'd think so. You'd also think that the ship would be messed up from being inside black holes, etc. Then again, you'd think a lot of things about that episode, but there it is...

Silly epside. But apparently if an object is moving at limitless speed they can pass through objects with ease, lord know what happens to the object that's being passed through.

It's subspace. Um... It, uh...
Shit.

You know, all the things cited here about Threshold are just icing. Just mere additions, to the most terrible fact. You want the most terrible fact, I know you do. It will make you hate B&B even more.
I hope you're all ready..
It's a direct-fucking-ripoff of Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.
It's the Infinite Improbability Drive. You appear everywhere in the galaxy, then you turn into something else. It is the IID, a device clearly made for the ultimate parody of space opera, and B&B used it as a fucking episode idea.

If they were everywhere in the universe at the same time, then why did they end up in practically the same place by the end of the episode? I don't buy it. I bet they just passed through some idiotic cloud of gas and transformed them into lizards or something. Then they all jumped to truly Voyager-ish conlusion that they were indeed at Warp 10.

My 'favorite' bit of the episode was that when Paris hit warp 10, Janeway ordered the Voyager to follow. How do you follow something that exists at every point in the universe?

Well, since it's at every point in the universe, it's also right in front of you. So you already caught it.

But since it's at every point in the universe, it's also behind you. So it's time for evasive maneuvers.

Exactly my point. I can mentally imagine the helmsman mentally cursing Janeway's idiocy and just continueing the course he was on. After all any course will be a persuit course.

On the other hand, it's at every point in the universe, so
no matter how you maneuver, it's still behind you, thus evasive maneuvers would be pointless

The crew of Voyager (well, the writers actually, but if we suspend disbelief, we must blame the fictional crew) must be fucking morons.
Asymptotes are so defined because they invariably incorporate a division by zero term. Division by zero is MATHEMATICALLY UNDEFINED. When you divide something by zero, you do NOT get a number that is simultaneously all numbers; you do not get an answer at all.
Trek does not just abuse science; it abuses MATHEMATICS. And this is a consistent pattern. From DS9, we had a device which could alter the laws of probability (hint: the laws of probability are mathematical in nature and altering them is tantamount to building a device that alters the rules of addition and subtraction). From Voyager, we had a "fissure" in the event horizon of a black hole, another mathematically defined quantity. And now, we discover that the writers of Voyager are too fucking stupid to understand what division by zero is.

You forget them abusing scientific parody(Which at least admitted it was impossible, why else call it an infinite improbability drive?). I'm sorry, I'm just all wound up that they stampeded over Douglas Adam's grave like this.

Yup, it's official: fight something moving at Warp 10, and your fucked.

Just a bit of trivia: one of the panels in the E-D engine room was labelled "Improbability Generation".

That's fine, as it's obviously a well-hidden tribute/easter egg. Yet turning the plot into a storyline for Trek and putting their name on it..
Have I mentioned the rage and disgust enough?
