How about we use it to clean a cannon? Say the main barrel of the Death Star.

Among others

Lets just say that her books got repackaged by pocket books (They were so popular with the fanbase)

setting the record straight for Star Trek Fans.

I just want to say that not all Star Trek fans think that way. I know what is cannon, what is Official, and what is Non-cannon/official.

Cannon:
TOS
TNG
DS-9
Voy.
All 10 movies

Official:
TNG/DS-9 Technical manuals
Star Trek Encyclopedia 1st, 2nd,& 3rd. printings
TNG, DS-9, & Voy Commpanion books
Star Trek Star Charts
Star Trek The Magazines
Star Trek Communicator magazines

Non-Cannon/Official:
All Novels
All Comics
Star Trek Animated series
Any Technical manual that came out before 1987/ pre TNG era.

I love Star Trek but you won't see me confusing any of the Non-Cannon/Official for the real thing.

No Batman, this is what most fans of the series WOULD LIKE to have considered cannon.

NOTE that Voyager & Enterprise are on the bottom of the list.

Most Trek fans don't like either one at all.

Note Diane Daune near the top of the list. She is considered the best of the writers, she is to ST books what Zhan is the SW books. Fans love her star trek books involving the Romulon Empire.

This fan doesn't consider your list correct and even though I hate Voyager I do like Enterprise. I prefer Peter David for the novels.

I had heard rumors...but I didn't think those people actually existed...

Quick, quick, shoot it, we'll stuff and mount him...

Batman, their is no Trek Offical, Paramounts Canon policy is black and white, either its the tv shows/movies or it's not canon.

Yup, and that's part of why Paramount has pissed off a number of the Great Old Ones crowd.

I can state for a fact that most ST fans enjoyed Nemesis and do not rank it so low on the list. It had its problems but it was fun to watch.

Which fans have you been talking to? Yes, the Trek fans THAT ARE STILL AROUND enjoyed the film. The problem was that it disillusioned a spectacularly large percentage of their fan-base--as much as thirteen percent by some polls. My dad and his friends (for seven) said that they walked into that movie as Trekkies and walked out without any loyalty to the franchise.

Here's a shot in the dark.... Anyone remember who wrote the Klingon novel back in the mid-late 80s??? I can't even remember the name of it right now. :(

BTW, I like the way that they rank the obviously self-contradictory fan-fics above some of the allegedly reputable sources of canon.

Think so huh? I said nothing about Official being cannon they are different.

Cannon is the Movies and the episodes. Official is the technical manuals, Encyclopedia's and magazines about the shows seen on TV or the big screen.Star Trek the magazine says at the botom of it "Officially authorized by Paramount Pictures" as well as all the other material outside the novels, comics and cartoon shows from the seventies.

If it mentions anything that has been seen "ON SCREEN" it is Official, until it is actually talked about on screen where it becomes Cannon. Paramout considers the information obout Spock in two Animated ep. of Star Trek to be Official because they mentioned his past in them and did so again in TNG. Paramout does have an Official status as well as a Cannon status, visit the web site or check out a magazine and read the cover.
