Here's a question for the technically-minded. IIRC, Data's been seen eating various things. In "Datalore" he was poisoned when he drank something -- suggestive of a metabolism. So what are the odds that Data occasionally has to pinch a loaf?

Anyone else get the impression (from Naked Now, more than anything else) that Data was originally concieved to be a lot more organic than he eventually turned out to be?

Have we ever seen a toilet in Trek ?

Does Data have a mechanical or organic shyxnter (spelling?).

Yeah. It seemed he was going to be much more of a synthetic person and a lot less of a robot simulating a human like he turned out.

Okay, okay, let's dismiss the whole "bathroom canonicity" question, can we? It might be fun, but let's tackle that in another thread.

Let's assume that regular, organic species crap in Star Trek. In that case, we'll speculate about exactly how they crap in this forum, different thread. The "Spayyyyce Craaaaaap!!!" thread, perhaps.

But for now, I think the consensus is, yes -- if people still crap in Star Trek, Data is probably spawnin' brown trout right along with 'em.

And I'm guessing that, like the rest of the outside of him, his poop-chute is probably also synthetic material. Ick. Did I have to type that, really?

Even so, nothing after Datalore or Naked Now specifies any change in Data's structure or composition (His behavior is definitely a different story.) So it's safe to say that right up until it got incinerated, Data had a pooper, and probably used it.

Interesting idea: I wonder how Data would have reacted if or when he got diarrhea? Probably got it produced as a UPN series...

Along the same lines, Data claimed to be fully functional, in a sexual sense, and apparently satisfied Tasha Yar. Does this mean he's capable of ... "the money shot?"

Data probably has a blender in his belly and a storage tank for it; it could be emptied via crapping.

Unrelated, but in the foundation series Daneel can simulate "eating". The food goes into a sac which is regugitated or removed somehow (???)

If Data can crap does that mean he can fart?

Do you think Data's creator would make Data take little rabbit pellet dumps or would it come out like a slurpee?

I think i saw it stated somewhere that part of Data's inner workings are simulated organic, as in they need oxygen to work etc. Also in a related no i refer to a TNG book The Stand. Data sits down and eats at a dinner conference with a culture who just broke warp and i the same book the guests mention toilets. Apparently they are voice activated on the E-D, Just stand up and say "Flush".

That brings up a funny point. Considering how useless everything becomes when the Main Computer goes offline. Does the Enterprise's toilet system have a problem with clogging up everytime the computer glitches?

A definite possibility. Then again, just because he satisfied Tasha doesn't mean he got anything out of it. I can attest from first-hand experience to that possibility.

In order for us to assume that Data has a vagina, we would have to first assume that his creator, Noonien Soong, was a crack fiend in the depths of his downward spiral. Somehow, I think that would preclude the man's ability to build a series of sentient machines.

As to the question of the Borg Queen... I somehow also doubt that she had a vagina. I'd rather not think about Alice Kriege's vagina, in any case.

Well why was she so interested about "physical forms of expression" or whatever the quotw is? Did they actually have it? All we (thankfully) saw was her saying "too long data" and kissing him.
