Enterprise's BOLD NEW DIRECTION!

Or so sayeth TV Guide. I'm afraid I don't see anything 'bold' or, indeed, 'new' in 'straight down the crapper', but I suppose it might surprise some.

On a more serious note, has anyone looked over this article? I was too afraid for my braincells when I glanced at it in Walmart.

Is there a link to the article online?

Upon investigating TVGuide.com, it does not appear that horrific. In fact, it's basically 'YO! Morons! Enterprise sucks so bad we're asking our readers what you lot should be doing.'.

No, that's a publicity stunt. B&B have known for years what the fans think of them, and have no intention of starting to listen to them now. They just want the fans to THINK they're listening to them.

So how long before a rabid trekkie comes into their offices and just shoots them?

Not that that is necessarly a bad thing, but there is a leagl technicality.

Okay, I read the short article in the new TV Guide.

Apparently Earth is going to be attacked by some new race. Most of North America is supposed to be trashed. Trip's home town and family is wiped out. So he's going to be pissed and angry for awhile.

The reason this race attacks is because they someone found out that Earth will attack them 400 years in the future.

This whole situation is supposed to set it up for the Enterprise to be more militarized. More weapons, including photon torpedoes. They are supposed to get a small group (about 5) of special forces type people onboard who aren't part of Starfleet. They specifically mention planning on casting those 5 with "star power" intentions. IE they hope at least one of them will become a fan favorite (look for "pretty people"). :?

The Enterprise is supposed to go into some new freaky part of space to get to these new aliens. The Vulcan's don't want T'Pol going there so she resigns from the Vulcan High Command to stay with the ship. She's supposed to get a different hair cut and as TV Guide put it "a all new cat suit". Why she wouldn't get a uniform like everyone else I don't know.

The article really wasn't that long but there are a few more specifics on the races name and about the weird part of space they live in but I'm currenlty going by memory.

B&B have not decided whether this storyline will last most of the next season or a few episodes but one of the intents is to make Archer more decisive and a bit more forcefull. They are trying to get away from the "wide-eyed" aspects.

Really powerful energy based aliens. My god, that's completely new and innovative. That'll be sure to save Enterprise. :D

Oh no. The last Star Trek character I want to exist is a Vulcan equivalent of 7-of-9.

Adds Braga: "You've got to keep an optimistic viewpoint. It's come this far, and it ain't goin' anywhere."
Lol. I found that quote on the TV Guide site. Fitting, though not in the way he meant.

So all they are doing is adding cleavage and action in higher does? Could be better, could be worse.

Up until now I'd considered Enterprise to be half-decent (by Trek standards, anyway) but by the looks of it the show is planning on boldly going where pretty much every modern Trek has gone before (i.e. straight down the crapper.)

Too bad, it had potential. It was lighter on the technobabbly than previous shows, and it actually managed to make the Vulcans semi-interesting again.

I'd like to see Enterprise become a sitcom, all the stereotypical characters are there, and they have a dog. There's laughs to be had, and not laughs of frustration like now.

Fraiser in space? Or Friends in space.

make it into a porn sit com, of course they will have to replace the male crew members with females and add on a mud pit deck. Throw in a few human females that have been living on the Ferengi homeworld for a while too....Leave the dog, and maybe add a horse.

I'm hoping they're going to start the Earth-Romulan war, but it doesn't look like that's going to be happening.

I hope they don't considering they would find a way to just completely mangle the story.

This "bold New direction" dosnt seem to bad. It seems like they want to make more continuing story arch episodes as oposed to stand alone ones and that is always better

I bet fifty quatloos that we get a half-assed rehash of the Dominion War. Also, another fifty quatloos that Trippy's rage and grief doesn't last beyond ten episodes.

But the Dominion war is one of the best story archs that star trek has ever had.

Playing it overly safe there giving them that many episodes for Trip to be pissed aren't you? :D

Most likely it'll be like Picard's thing with the Borg. Now it's here, now it's not, now it's here, now it's not. Now he's completely over it, now he hates them even more than before.

Just when you think that B&B can't get any more stupid, they do. The only way they can salvage any of this, is by the end of the series make sure the timeline does not exsist, Archer and Co. go out with a bang saving the timeline.

But, I am pretty sure they won't. Their answer to everthing is more sex and if possible even more tits. Like nipples will save this sinkhole which actually makes Voyager look halfway decent.
