Its a good thing that popularity and quality are two entirely seperate things.

Seriously, I think it has to do with the fact that Voyager is still running on broadcast syndication, so it currently has the most exposure then any of the other series.

I'd think that poll would be for worst captains in ST, except for Archer getting such a low score.

It's sadly true that there's a whole generation of Star Trek fans who think that Voyager was the best incarnation of Trek ever made.

Mind you, that age group also buys Britney Spears' music.

For a lot of people, they think what ever they see first is the way it should be and therefore the best. If Voyager was these youngster's first exposure to Trek, its understandable why the poll is going the way it is.

Well, no wonder! It's the Biography Channel's site! There was probably a miniscule proportion of ST fans voting, and those that did were probably n00bial, a possibility that has been noted.

I think Braga stacked the voting box... He must have voted multiple times under different accounts. This is the only way I could explain this...

Wow. That's crazy, no shit.

I can understand people liking Picard more than Kirk. TNG has aired with some regularity; the only way most know Kirk is through the movies, when he was still awesome but not in his 60's prime (progressively more obvious wigs, getting a bit fat and old in the films).

But Sisko over Picard? Lord Bombast vs. Mr. Shakespeare? I liked Sisko well enough, but he's not even in the same league as Picard or Kirk.

Janeway over them all?

There must be something in the water at biog dot com. Like PCP. As Michael said, there's a generation of Trekkies for whom VGR was their gateway drug, but Lord Almighty...! Even the VGR fans I knew admitted Janeway was a turd, that it was the worst Trek show to date. This was in pre-ENT days, mind you.

If this were based in quality, Kirk and Picard should be leading.

I think the lovers of Janeway porn are spreading their influence.

Well, i've always thought your critism of Voyager was too harsh. But then again Voyager was one of the 1st ones a saw.
But even i wudn't say Janeway was better captain than kirk or picard

This gives us a good chart of the idiocy levels of that sites users.

But Pike isn't even on the poll. Although I liked him as much as Kirk.

This does not suprise me in the least. The quality of Star Trek fan has went down hill to accompany the lowering of the show.
