Which series Finale was best?

So, from The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager, which series finale was done the best?

Was it All Good Things from TNG with the time changing sequences, Q, and the oh so lovely Galaxy-X improved Enterprise?

Was it What You Leave Behind from DS9 with the largest space battle ever, Dukat being supreme Evil, and the Federation/Romulans/Klingons/Cardassians fighting together for the first time ever?

Or was it End Game from Voyager with time travel once again, really powerful future technology, and a token space battle towards the end?

FYI, don't vote unless you have seen or know enough about all three.

My vote is for TNG "All Good Things..."

While it deals with time travel, it does not do it in the normal Star Trek fashion. And Picard finally joins the senior officer poker game at the end :D .

I have to agree. All Good Things was very well done. It didn't even attempt to explain away the problems with Picards time hoping. It was Q and thats all we need to know. The episode brought back an old cast member, Yar. Q was in it which is fitting since he started the series as well. We have a nicely done plot. A really cool space battle, a nice series of shots with all three Enterprises together. And of course the way the series ended. Really well done IMO. It concludes the series but leaves their adventures open.

What You Leave Behind would have been an ok season finale, but thats it. End Game would have been good for an episode near the end, but nothing more. Really, TNG had the only proper series finale for all of the Trek series.

All Good Things was a proper finale. It gave everyone some time in the spotlight and brought the series back to its beginning with Q and his trial of humanity. Can anyone guess what it was that Q was going to tell him near the end when he bends close to Picard's ear and then pulls back with a mysterious smile.

I used to HATE the Q character, I mean DESPISE him to the point where iof he was in an episode I stopped watching it. Now I adore his episodes. They have a nice humorous feel to them but there's always an underlying subtext that's always interesting to read into. This Finale clinched it for me that Q was one of the better things to come out of Trek in a LONG time.

I loved the hopping back and forth, unlike other folks here, I really dig a well told time travel story. Well told being the opertaive word here.

I also thought that it was a proper good bye to a series like TNG and best part of all, unlike that turd Voyager didn't need to rely on Borg and stupid gimmicks to end a series, it told a simple story using the main characters and not much else. This finale also explored the relationship between the crew and Captain, where they have to trust him even when it seems as if he is going mad. Voyager's Finale was a waste of time and breath. Did we elarn anything more about their relationships than at the begining of the Episode??

DS9 (My favorite of the new Trek series) had a decent ending, the Battle for Cardasia Prime and the end of the DOminion War was OK. Nothing special or Apocalyptic. The Gul Dukat (Favorite DS9 villain by FAR) storyline was disappointing to say the least and I could not stop thinking as I saw Sisko and Dukat falling into that crevice that "Gee, this is VERY similair to B5 and Sheridan's end...."

You know what Stravo, i really enjoyed the Dukat storyline, and i feel that Dukat could be one of the greatest villans in all of modern Trek. I feel that way simply because Dukat was a badmotherfucker, plain and simple. No cybernetic implants, no uber-powers over space and time, just an bad son of a bitch. maybe his death was a little less spectacular than it could have been. But you know, he knew he was defeated..... and that too....he wasn't defeated by treknobabble or a cheezy superweapon of doom, but his forces lost, and then turned on him and all of his plans for greatness crubles before his eyes. sorry man, but i liked it. i vote for DS9

Dukat was AWESOME, he was a complex villain which Trek does not seem to be able to create on a regualr basis but you have to admit that by the end they just made him into this power hungry psycho and he was so much more subtle than that. He was a perfect nemesis for Sisko. They could outthink each other and they played off each other so well.

But the death was massive cheesy. I just expected so much more and I got B-5 Redux as Sisko's ending.

I going to have to go with "What You Leave Behind." Great acting and a good solid finish for a great series. "All Good Things..." pulls in a strong second with a great plot and a mild battle. "End Game" barely makes third because the only good thing about it was that it ended Voyager.

I would like to remind people that fully 1/4 of the battle from What You Leave Behind was REUSED FOOTAGE. I find that an extreme insult when they can't even be bothered to create new battle scenes for the last freaking episode.

Prehaps they were running out of money when they put that scene together. Battlestar Galatcia's fighter sequences were never orginal footage, except in the pilot.

The worst part about it was that it was BLATANTLY stock footage. I mean anyone that had watched DS9 for a few seasons and some of the Trek movies would recognize most of that footage. It was cringe worthy and pissed me off to no end I was expecting some kick ass battle scenes like in Sacrifice of Angels.

I actually liked both the DS9 and the TNG finales. I voted for the DS9 episode because I liked it a little bit more. DS9, I thought, was a great show and it was lots of fun to watch. I thought Quark was a great character and gave some needed insight into the Ferengi.

When I go to Vegas, I always go to Quark's bar in the Hilton and drink lots of alcohol. Fun place. Last time I was there, I watched the Voyager finale once again on their viewscreens.

Voyager's season finale, however, sucked some major ass. Its climax was the ship getting sucked into a sphere only to have the Feddies blow it up so that the ship can emerge? Lame. Really fucking lame.

BTW: If any of you are going to Vegas, go to Quark's and order a "Warp Core Breach." This drink comes in a HUGE bowl like container, contains seven different kinds of rum, and smokes and fizzles like it has dry ice or something.

I admit to voting for "End Game"

Why?

Cause a Janeway died in it and can't come back :wicked:

That is not even enough of a reason to vote for Voy. Only a manidate from the Almighty would even get to consider to vote for it.

so how is the star trek experience? is the whole hotel star trek-y? are there jackasses walking up to you and yelling "KA-PLAH!"? what else is there besides Quark's?

ROTFLMFAO

You know I thought I was going crazy when I saw that for the first time. I kept blinking, trying to clear my vision. But I have to go with Stravo, Gul was witty, charasmatic and dangerous. And yet, sadly, by the end it seemed like it was a B5 plot gone horribly wrong.

your right but thankfully there is only one Janway there could have been two if the future one didn't die. Also in Nemisis she was an admiral.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I liked DS9 best as a show I think the finale for TNG was the best. It bookended well with the first episode and was both interesting and cool (future Ent-D and other future ships) at the same time.

DS9 ending sucked. A re-used footage battle, a fucking stupid ending to a war, and some bullshit Bajoran religon shit mixed in.

End Game gave me nightmares it sucked so bad.

WYLB was asked to do too much when the plug was yanked on DS9. It still manages to do a somewhat credible (if choppy) job though.

All Good Things was a decent finale. It has all the stuff that Trek has become known for, warbling technobabble, insane time-travel, Q, and semi-decent characterization and interaction.

All Good Things was definatly the best.

Voyagers end sucked, despite the crappiness of Voy I really wanted to see what happened shortly after they got back, how they crew would cope with splitting apart after being on a ship for seven years. It would've been alot better if the proper Janeway had given her life for her crew making the return home all the more bittersweet.

What You Leave Behind. DS9 is my favourite Star Trek offshoot and the neding capped it off nicely. The ending did suffer due to Paramount not fronting the cash to make new battle sequences. I put that down to behind the scenes manipulation by Beavis and Butthead. The lead up to the Finale was superb. I think it's ironic that Dukat ended up the Pah Wraiths Emissery. Also i loved seeing Whinn get her deserved end. It left me wanting more and cherishing the DS( episodes i do have on DVD.
