From Rick Sternbach, the author.First off, I dislike the word "canon" and don't use it. However, if you mean "Does the TNG Tech Manual totally jibe with everything ever seen or heard in the Star Trek series or feature films?", then the answer is no.

Well DUH. I always respected Sterbach, he's a pretty smart guy. Personaly I think that the TMs are useful for information not imediately available in the series. Furthermore they make good supporting information when contraditory canon information comes about.

If the Technical Manuals were canon then we'd have a problem, because there's information in the shows which directly contradict it. Fans can decide to throw out one piece of canon information or another in the event of a contradiction and give reasoning for it, but the fact remains that there's conflicting information from what's supposed to be an absolutely true source. That creates more than a few logic problems. There's enough of that trying to reconcile Star Trek (or Wars) with itself onscreen without throwing a book into the fray.
TrekWars: The Furry Conflict. A unique and inventive mix of "Trek" and "Wars"--with some fur to add color.
