Thrawn versus...

Post by ViciousMink »

Now that I've got your attention.... :wink:

Seriously, while I normally avoid 'ST v. SW' debates -- too much vitriol brims up to the surface for my taste -- some can be pretty entertaining. For example, this little gem that I thought up....

Speaking in terms of plot and characterization and drama... maybe not neccessarilly competence, but I think that could be a good factor, too...

How about Grand Admiral Thrawn vs. General Chang?

That is, Christopher Plumber's character from ST6. While Chang didn't do so hot in the movie, in the game Klingon Academy he had some really interesting strategic things going on. Maybe not enough to go against Thrawn... but I think it might still make for an interesting matchup. (As I said, if for nothing else than it would be a movie I'd definitely want to see! :lol: )

Now donning 'baked potato' entry suit....
The Jedi asked, "What is balance for me as a servant of the Light?" The Master replied,"Balance is not what you seek. For you it is accepting that destruction is a part of the universe."

Think of a federation shuttle vs the executor.
Chang = shuttle.
Thrawn = Executor.

Complete mismatch... yet again. :P

Can someone list Thrawn's achievements btw?

I mean I know he's got a killer rep but what's the full list of what he's done?

I'll try to get you a list. But in short, he pretty muched unified the Empire and kicked the NR's ass despite being outnumbered 3-1.

Wouldn't Thrawn be the Eclipse?
Ha Lire has decided to post in third-person untill he is a padawan. He hopes you have a nice day. He also asks you not to taunt him. You may also kick him if he messes it up.

Thrawn achivements?

Hmm well won nearly every single battle he was placed it

He won a 6 on 1 Fight way back when and all of his ships where out-gunned(As reviled in VoF) VS Top of the Line Imperal Craft(In ST terms he did the equvilant of taking one Galaxy Class and beating twenty others Galaxys-Classes)

THEN with the same ships just taken into battle he went on a 4 on 1 Fight(Firepower but not numbers this time) aginst the Outbound Project and kicked thier ass as well

Time and time agian he guess his opents stratagys and the only thing that ever did him in was the lacking one of crucial bit of info about the fact that Leia was the Daughter of Vadar

Oh under his direction he conqured an unknow number of other systems for the Empire.

Basicly he wins every fight ever put to him, his only two defeats come from lacking some crucial bit of info that lets a mini-deus Ex win the day(The Norghi Betrale and Lando knowing the Control Codes)

Let's make this fair. Thrawn in a TNG era shuttle and Chang in the Executor. Then MAYBE Thrawn will break a sweat.

He also orchestrated the Rebel massacre at Derra IV, although Vader took the credit.

And he was instrumental in defeating Grand Admiral Zaarin's attempted coup, as well as chasing and defeating him in the Outer Rim in more than a dozen battles. (TIE Fighter)

How about Thawn vs. Death, not actually dieing but the Grim Reaper himself with a scythe. Thawn has nothing, but the battle is taking place inside of Wallmart and both sides can pickup whatever they want to use.
