Bit of info on Wong vs Timmy Jones debate.

Was looking at this debate the other day, and wanted to point out that, as far as can be known, that was the real TJ that Darth Wong laid the smack upon. I say this because TJ didn't make his brief return to ASVS until I got hold of him and told him he should come back.

You see, some ASVS denizen whose name I can't recall at the moment had come running onto the NG, hollering that he had seen Timmy posting on some other newsgroup under his old Timelord handle. ASVS had grown terribly dull by then, Trek opposition having been crushed, and I felt like stirring up some shit. Considering Timmy's INFAMOUS reputation, this seemed like the perfect chance.

So I fired off a nice polite email to TJ, asking if it was really him, and updating him on all the impostors and talk there had been of him since he left. Given my tone, he took it as flattery. I then told him he should come back, just to flip everyone out. Timmy replied that he would graciously TRY to get back to ASVS at some point, but that his time was limited. Shortly thereafter, he cropped up again, and the rest I think we know.

At least this is how I remember it. I was LordShaithis on ASVS way back in the day, and more recently I've gone by the handle WindupAtheist.

*sigh* That would be me... and I tripleposted the message because DFN-CIS filtered it out and I couldn't see it.

And you *would* have to head over to AFS and invite him back. I should have posted a message saying, "Hey, everyone, it's Timmy! Let's all go over and give him an ass-whooping!"

The most amusing thing about the whole thing, though, was how we had the Jones imposter posting at the same time. The real Tim even went so far as to accuse *all of us* of impersonating him. Talk about deluded.
