I was not mocking EA marines for being taken down by physically superior opponents, just pointing out that Starfleet officers are able to take on physically superior opponents.
Thus:
SF officer > EA Marine
Han Solo was able to disable a stormtrooper without too much trouble despite the trooper's reported hand to hand training. If Stormtroopers are anything like modern troops, most of the fighting they do is at range with rifles as tharkun said in his lengthy post, so they are likely to be rusty in hand to hand.
SF officers routinely engage in hand to hand combat, EA marines also do, although not quite as routinely as SF officers. But then again this is mostly in confined spaces like inside ships and stations, going hand to hand may not be quite as common out in the open and/or on a battlefield, but that's not really the point of this line of discussion.
