Which is greater? Star Trek Wars or Star Wars Trek ?

So, which one was likely the bigger event?

For those who don't get it, watch Futurama "Where no fans has gone before"..or something like that...

Or just watch Futurama anyway. 8)

Star Wars by far. Star Wars changed movies forever. It changed EVERY aspect of movies. It changed the way that an entire generation saw motion pictures. It broke every rule, and won easily. Star Trek, while clearly important in and of itself, unfortunately was never rewarded with the ratings that it deserved. While it broke new ground, and while many later shows did take their cues from things pioneered on ST, ST did not alter television the way that SW altered movies. SW was a more important milestone. While VERY few people will say that ST is the greatest television series of all time, there are still critics who regard SW as the most important movie ever made.

Both have their place. While ST never really changed the face of television the way Star Wars changed the movies - Star Wars is credited with creating the whole concept of summer movie blockbusters for one, ST has inflitrated popular culture almost as succesfully as Star Wars. How many people know what "beam me up" means? Star Wars has done the same in its own way.

I guess in the end, Star Wars is bigger because it has been more succesful over the years. When I've looked at the ST movies recently, particularly the special editions St II and III it became very obvious that the movies had shoe string budgets that forced certain creative choices. Its amazing what they did with the little money they had but you can't compare it to the hundred million that GL has to play with. Star Wars is a full blown industry that chugs along with a massive fan base, sometimes thats good - the recent movies, sometimes thats bad - generally the EU. But it is what it is.

Each has their own distinct message to give and each have a positive view of humanity and the future. We would be much poorer without either one of these fine series.

I say the Star Wars Trek, since it was an intergalactic affair while I believe the Star Trek Wars were just confined to Earth :D

Star Trek Wars was when ST become an religion and oppossed by the world government which then incite a war between the trekkie and the non-trekkie..

Star War Trek was the massive Exdous of all the Star Wars Fans to a new planets (I can't recall the name...)

Both are from the same epsiode of Futurama "Where No Fan Has Gone Before".....
