Just today I borrowed Nemesis (it didn't get any better with a second viewing, btw) from a relative, and the replicator came to mind. Why does the contrived character Shinzon require Picard? Why not just replicate the necessary *technobabble* once he had Picard in custody?Not at all. The replicators require an EXACT knowledge of exactly how things are produced, down to each molecule. And even then, they damage DNA and leave little molecular gaps.
