Delta Flyer's future usage?

Post by FaxModem1 »

Hey everybody, I'm a newbie. I grew up on Star Trek, but now I'm a fiver.I know that the Empire would crush the ISA and the UFP given the chance. But onto my question.

In Star Trek Voyager, they create the Delta Flyer. Well, now that they are home. Will Starfleet use the design again? or will it remain a one time ship.

Its sitting on Voyager's shuttle bay, just another exhibit in the museum.

Starfleet ignores it, naturally, and sticks to their wankboy designs from the rest of Voyager and Insurrection.

I say give it to Quark so he can start up his own shuttlecraft racing circuit.

Hey do we know what the currency rates are?

As for the Delta Flyer....strip it's weapons and give it to a low class admiral.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Don't we kind of now what will happen to it.

In one of the time travel episodes it mentions that Kim and Chakotay stole the Flyer, I think. It was the one where only they made it home. I think it mentioned where the Flyer was located. As such, it probably would be there. I think.

Then again, considering only a small group of non doctorate types made the vessel, it will never be used, despite the enhancements it has. It will promptly be laughed at by Starfleet Engineering and stored in the same place as the Ark and never spoken of again.

If it was put into ful production then it might become a very good thing for Starfleet but they would probably change the controls it a keypad system instead of the joystick. On that note I wonder if the buggy thing in Nemisis will have a steering wheel on it.

Who would want it?

Let's say that they are in mass production, and through an old Admiral, Quark, and an empty sector. You could have your own top of the line Delta Flyer.

Would you get one?

Yes, but I'd by a lot of other ships first if I had the opportunity. Then I could fly around, fuck the prime directive, and "buzz" some planets.

Cookie if you get the refrence.

I am under no liability to give you a cookie. Damn now I gotta pay thief a quarter.

C'mon! I mean, every ship design is almost a one-timer (unlike Klingons, Romulans, Ferengi, etc who create two or three designs and use them for centuries)

Feds = the race with more ship "designs" ever.

Mars Utopia buys the design and makes it into a luxury sedan for the stars!

The Delta Flyer; all the comfort of a starship, the features of a shuttle, and the most powerful engine in the quadrant. A transporter, medical bay, and 20th century race-inspired styling and controls make for an unparralled ride.

I would have one for the garage.

It's versatile. It's durable. It's fast. It's stylish. It's got Borg technology. It can be constructed with materials found on an Intrepid class scoutship 5 years out from it's last stop at a starbase. It's 100 times better than any previous Federation small craft design.

Thus, we'll never see it again.
