Well for the Orion's it's not exactly.
Sure everyone of the Alpha/Beta Quadrant races are gentetically compatible. However the Orions have never had a recorded offspring, either their sterile unless they don't want to be. Or they have the only decent birthcontrol tech in the whole of startrek....

Well, in Star Trek, pretty much any species can be knocked up by humans. Many of them can also be knocked up by other non-human species, but human-alien hybrids are still much more common than hybrids between any other two species.Bertie Wooster wrote:Can Twi-leks or Orions get knocked up by humans? Anyway, many of my posts tend to get ignored, so it's revenge (not that you did anything, but whatever).

Well, for Orions anyways. Twileks are a completely seperate species, not a human off shoot, so I'd say no.Kuja wrote:Yep.Bertie Wooster wrote:Can Twi-leks or Orions get knocked up by humans? That would be an important factor.

Further clarification: head tails would involve significant changes in the embryo itself, so they can't be.Ender wrote:Well, for Orions anyways. Despite the extensive morphological similarities elsewhere? Possibly another "mimicking" species, as Saxton has suggested, like the Falleen?

No, its pretty clear that different Star Wars species cant produce offspring together. In fact in Star Wars they classify something as an Alien by not being able to produce offspring with a human. Species that are able to do so, are called Near-Human (Xa Fel, Etti, Sith etc.). Yes some can mate physically, there genes are non the less not compatible. Also in the Star Wars Galaxy (at least among Core World Humans) it is not well received to have a relationship with something other then a human. Just have a read through (I think) the second X-Wing Novel.
In Star Trek on the other hand humanoids can fertilize each other as much as they want to. Klings/Human is on example, the girl from Voy another, Troi from TNG and various others. Even Worf and Jadzia could have had offspring with a little hormone helping. They all have the same genetic background as claimed in the TNG Episode The Chase.
