Borg meets System Shock
Now, since Voyager offed the Borg Queen yet again. What would happen if SHODAN encountered a Borg Cube, added her software to the Collective and took over the Borg.
That's right the borg run buy an Evil Computer Program, with limitless imagination, an interest in genetic manipulation, reformatting reality, and a level of statigic planning never encounted before in Star Trek.
Would she be able to beat the Federation etc.
Could she challenge any Starwars faction.

I think this should be in the other sci-fi section.
Shodan would easily waste the Federation. With her habit of playing with genetics Borg 20 feet tall with tentacles and other nasty modifications would start showing up. She'd also certainly send more than one cube. Lastly she'd hack the Bejesus out of their systems and we've seen what happens when a feddie ship meets a computer virus.
However unless Shodan can significantly upgrade Borg Weaponry she still can't beat the empire with them. They simply have too much of a speed advantage (though less than they do against the Federation) and far too much firepower. However she'd probably also slice at least a few Imperial vessels, if the Empire couldn't mobilize overwhelming forces quickly she might be able to assimilate their weapons and then things would get messy. She'd still lose in the end simply because the Empire's a whole Galaxy and the Borg are at best 20% or so, but they'd suffer huge losses taking her out.

Come to think of it, didn't Shodan have a planet-destroying Laser Cannon available in the First System Shock Game? If she still has the plans for that stashed away, as well as the generator to run it, the Borg might actually have a chance against the Empire. Cubes with near-Death Star Level Weaponry would be a serious problem for the Empire.

Shodan's laser in SS1 wasn't a planet-buster -- but I'll bet it'd easily wipe New York off the map, as she planned to burn out every major city on the planet with one or two shots to each one.

Ummm... why would SHODAN need the Borg at all? The Cube maybe useful for transporting troops, but I think there's no need for Borg drones. A single Level-1 Security Bot is more valuable in combat than hundreds of drones.
IMO, it'll better for SHODAN to replace all those *useless* drones with her own baddies (Cortex Reaver, Security Bots, etc). Then use the Cubes for troop transports.

I imagine she'd do just that, using the drones as grunt labor, and eventually phasing them out of service once the numbers of her more sophisticated creatures were up.
But does she get an Edward Diego look-alike?

I think this topic should be moved to "Other Sci-Fi" forum.
