I read it. Let us never speak of it again.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

Where is this number from? I've been looking for a yield for the proton torp but never found one... *ponders.*
I think you're thinking of W40K Torpedoes, mate.

Quantum Torpedoes are widely recognised to be about double the yield of photon torpedoes.

It's a piece of shit.

Anyway, Stravo there was an entire species of aliens, in the Black Fleet trilogy (the comander of the NR taskforce where Lando joins and chaces that alien ship about)

No, I'm referring to Star Wars' proton torpedoes. I beleive the number is on the main site, though now that I come to think of it, I can't remember where. Possibly I misremember.

Quantum torpedoes are 3 times more powerful than photon torpedoes, which in turn are 64 megatons maximum theoretical yield: 1.5 kilograms antimatter plus 1.5 kilograms normal matter times c^2.

In any case, heavy turbolasers are 200 gigatons, 3000 times more powerful than photon torpedoes. And that's just from one turret! It's not as if Trek's situation is improved a lot. The point my post was that SW weapons exeed ST weapons by several orders of magnitude.

Actually it's worse...those are Medium Turbolasers, not the Heavy. People have made conjectures that we've seen Heavy obliterate ISD's in RoTJ fleet battles once the shields are down.

Source for QT's being thrice PT as they indeed are assumed to be twice, if you could be bothered.
200GT is for medium TLs on a 20 year old transport, and IIRC it's per barrel.
64MT for PTs is of course bogus.

'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'
'You know, for a guy with like 50 different kinds of vision, you sure are blind.'

So I put "heavy" instead of "medium". Sue me. I got the figures from the main site if you're interested.

Yes, I know. That's why I specified "maximum theoretical". Of course, I was also using the figures that are least bad for Trek showing that even then the differences are outrageous.

Point about the Q thing is tha the Q live in a separate continium from the Star Trek Universe, so they have their own rules and systems to work with, but are able to interface with the Star Trek Universe and manipulate it.

The best point that can be made about STvsSW is that even if the tech levels were exactly the same, or if ST was one tech level higher, the Empire would still win on resources and organization alone, let alone anything else.
