We saw them once, against Retarded Tusken-wannabes in Taliban Light Armor (read: shitty pickup trucks). They didn't exactly "drive circles" around anything.

And since this is the VS. Forum I assume this means you'd be willing to put the dune buggy, the only Fed ground vehicle seen, against a T-47 airspeeder or maybe a Trade Federation STAP? At least the STAP has no protection for the droid pilot, so you can't go crying foul after the Argo is reduced to wreckage.

And if we're going Trek Only. Then I still would rather be firing those pussified mortars
And given hand phasers historic weakness against dense elements, the Argo probably can't be taken out by hand phasers, although the operators are exposed. A little more armor on the Argo, and the Klingons have something to worry about.
Agreed, but only because even the Argo can beat a chargining Klingon wavinga Bat'Leth like a 4 year old after eating a box of Cocoa Puffs. Hopefully the Argo won't suffer too much damage from the impact of the Klingon being crushed beneath its wheels. SPLAT!

Against a more prudent enemy though. Id prefer something that wouldn't get me killed (like the Argo would)
Of course, they would be dominated by more heavily armored vehicles, but that's besides the point. We don't have evidence of any other armored vehicles fielded by the Fed's enemies, and one would assume that the Type-IV support phaser would be powerful enough to deal with whatever constitutes enemy armor in the Trekverse.
Im sure the Trek equivalent of IEDs , or that crazy looking thing Worf had in STI would suffice.
