Who would you root for?

Definetily rooting for and conscripting in/fighting for the Empire. Even if but a lowly grunt in the armed forces, superior training and equipment shall see me through to the end of the day far better than that of my pacifistic enemy, and heaven help the poor bastards should I somehow ascend to the highest tier of soldiering - they shall quake and quiver in fear as tales of horror and unmatchable feats are told of those crimson warriors who strike from nowhere, and their will will fail them in their last few living seconds as I strike them down for the glory of my emperor and the Royal Guard!fap fap fap

Even if I should be drummed out of service, the Empire's territory offers many opprotunities for those who wish to take the path of the hired gun. With a blaster or two, some armor, supplies, a bank loan for a small transport, and a shitload of self-training, I could cause enough mayhem and gather enough salvage to sate any need or desire for financing for a good length of time. With an enemy such as the Federation, siezing their combat and supply ships will be a task fairly simple, provided I'm careful and skilled enough, and if ever I found a way to return them to the Empire, their sale to those interested would make me a rich man indeed, or I could very well refit them for the purpose of causing more havoc WHAM WHAM WHAM

Basically, it comes down to gold, glory, and excellent design taste, among the reasons already listed.
