Terran Empire vs. Galactic Empire

Post by Junghalli »

We all know all the cannon Star Trek races get owned by the Empire, but what about the Terran Empire from Happy Target's Mirror Universe fanfic? How well would they do against the Empire? They're probably not quite as powerful as the Empire, but they're a lot closer to parity than any cannon Trek. They own large portions of the galaxy, have a huge population, and have quantum slipstream that can get them around the galaxy in fairly reasonable time. In In Service of the Empire: Armageddon the Alliance mauler bombardment of Regula was so violent the planet broke up. Granted Regula was probably a very small planet, but that has to at least make their firepower enough to threaten Wars shields. Finally the average TE or Alliance soldier is actually superior to a stormtrooper (powered armor and grav guns).

Terran Empire does have a much better military than the UFP. They would put up a good fight. Some their special techs could be useful too. But in the end their ships have neither the firepower nor the shielding to survive against ISDs. Their heaviest capship super beam cannon delivers a mere 1 teraton and most of their ship's have high gigaton shielding. Compared to this ISD's can throw around high teraton firepower and have comparable shielding. TE fleet while larger then UFP starfleet is still dwarfed by the Imperial armada. Terran Empire gets massacred by the Galactic Empire, it only take a while longer.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

And this has been done before.

Same results. Even with TT level firepower...they are not PT level shielding nor Multi TT level firepower, nor the resources of the Empire.

It's a bit longer, but not that much better.

Did you run out of scenario threads so quickly you're resorting to 'What ifs' involving fanfics already?
"If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little."
-George Carlin (1937-2008)

"Have some of you Americans actually seen Football? Of course there are 0-0 draws but that doesn't make them any less exciting."
-Dr Roberts, with quite possibly the dumbest thing ever said in 10 years of SDNet.

Was indeed done before, but the techinal disparity was too great, along with the industrial base advantage enjoyed by the Galactic Empire. On the good side, the citizenry overthrown by the Galactic Empire would already be accustomed to imperial rule.
