Commander, we only have one shot...
Death Star III is in the ST galaxy as part of the Imperial invasion fleet. Unfortunately a Rebel Saboteur...blah..blah...
The point is the Death Star will only be able to fire once before needing to undergo a repair of the superlaser. As the imperial commander, what planet/target would you choose to have destroyed if you only had one shot?
Personally, I would pick Q'o'nos (Kronos). That would ensure the complete annhiliation of the species, and from what I have read around the internet they are even more centralized than the Federation. The Dominion and Borg (despite being dumbed down from assimilating hack writers) are obviously the two most potent forces in the ST Galaxy but the Dominion are probably spread out enough in the Gamma Quadrant so that selecting one single target wouldn't be as effective, same with the Borg in the Delta Quadrant.

Romulus or Qonos. Both are the centers for significant power in the A/B Quadrants yet destruction of either one takes down a massive cenetral government. Starfleet seems much less centerally based as does the Cardassians and all the other major powers.

I would destroy the Founder homeworld, or the Borg's unimatrix.

I'd actually go the other way altogether. The Klingons are known
to maintain at least two military HQs ("Apocalypse Rising"), so
blowing up one wouldn't stop them cold.
However, if you blew up the Founder homeworld, or destroyed
the Federation government on Earth, you might effectively
cut the head off of the opposition. Eventually Vulcan (or
whatever) would take control of the Starfleet, but in that time
you'd probably have the superlaser ready for round two
Same story with the Dominion. Without the Founders, the
Jem'Hadar were expected to go berserk ("The Die Is Cast"),
attacking everything in sight. Big deal...a berserk attacker
isn't one who will coordinate with his fellow berserkers

I'd set a direct course for sector 001. Then I'd wait for the whole federation fleet to be destroyed while futiley attacking the ship, invade federation HQ, then go off and use the SL on Q'onos.

Wait for the beginning of Nemesis, when Wesley is attending the wedding. Then, blow up whatever planet it's on.

Probably Romulus. Destroy their economy and government. They're too stupid for me to want their resources. Then I'd fly around pulling one salvo BDZ's with the surface turbolasers.

good point
the thing is that the Klingons inhabit a territory that is very poor in habitable, or even usable planets. 400,000,000,000 Klingons gone along with their high command. That plus their tendency to stab everyone they don't like regardless of what side he/she fights on.....
I think after Nemesis we see that the Romulans are more vulnerable than we thought, not that the loss of one or two ships is any deal but what government can fight effectively after two coups in the same week or so?

I invite a delegation of Romulans, Cardassians, and Klingons onboard the DSIII, so that they may witness the destruction of the Federation homeworld and decide whether to resist the Empire or be intergrated into it's New Order.

I take the energy needed to fire the superlaser and use it to BDZ every capital planet in the AQ.

Who needs a superlaser? Just zip around the AQ and BDZ every capital world before anyone knows what the hell is going on.

I'd probably blow up Earth, Romulus & Qo'nos only ever really communicate nowadays when the Federation tells them to. Then I evacuate the DS and crash it into the Founder homeworld

BAD IMAGE. *Gets violently ill* Don't ever say that again!!! Oh, I'd blow up the Founder Homeworld and thus take the Dominion out of the fight for the Milky Way. *Rubs hands* Now to destroy the romulans and klingons with my regular Fleet Elements. Then return with a repaired DSIII and blow up Vulcan as an Example of what happens tothose who oppose me.Typhonis 1 wrote:While forcing thm to watch janeway-Jar Jar porn
