Delta Flyer vs. Jem Hadar warship
So, how many Delta Flyers would it take to destroy a Jem Hadar warship, I'm gathering research for my fanfic and I want to make sure it is accurate.

Several. The Delta Flier has never been seen as a ship capable of damaging other large ships in combat. It is superior to runabouts, but runabouts have also proven ineffective in dealing with advanced capital ships like the Jem'Hadar ones. Perhaps it would help if you stated a specific class of JH warship, and then let us work from that perspective.

Re: Delta Flyer vs. Jem Hadar warship
Probably a squadron at least to take out a Jem'hadar attack ship/fighter, in my opinion.FaxModem1 wrote:So, how many Delta Flyers would it take to destroy a Jem Hadar warship, I'm gathering research for my fanfic and I want to make sure it is accurate.
I would say no more then 6. While the Flyer seems a superior fighter to the Venture (Insurrection Scout), its got less firepower. Even the Runabouts can be retrofit to carry torpedoes. The Flyer, as good as it is, doesn't have the higher power weaponry the Venture and Runabout can carry. With 6 they can hit the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship at all angles and they are likely agile enough to stay out of its frontal arc most of the time.

Those are NOT fighters seeing as they are 120 meters long and are ALSO called Attack Ships.FaxModem1 wrote:THOSE ARE FIGHTERS
But they are the size of the Defiant, that is one big fighter.
So 12 Delta Flyers vs a JH fighter would be an even battle.
And I quote from the DS9 TM.

Firepower-wise, perhaps, but the Jemmie Bug could never get in a shot, as the DFs are too maneuverable.FaxModem1 wrote:THOSE ARE FIGHTERS

Didn't the Delta Flyer have technobabble missiles, technobabble shields, I say to take down a JH Attack Ship, it'd take 4 or so, look at the meneuverability shown in Imperfect.

Admirable to research that.FaxModem1 wrote:So, how many Delta Flyers would it take to destroy a Jem Hadar warship, I'm gathering research for my fanfic and I want to make sure it is accurate.
Honestly, I think it'd take a LOT. I haven't read the arguments
in the rest of the thread in detail, but the Delta Flyer
never impressed me. The only firepower I *ever* saw her
exhibit was in an episode I can't even name (Janeway
decided to take VGR's rejects out for a spin, and towards
the end, the DF "vaporizes" a decent-sized asteroid within
a gas giant's rings).
DF has photonic missiles and fwd. phasers, but her shields
absolutely SUCK--witness the episode featuring Neelix'
departure and a bloody *proximity detonation* that slowly
shatters a nearby asteroid but drops DF's shields down to
nil (or next thereto).
Supposedly DF has Borg-inspired defenses, but the Borg are
known to be very slow to adapt. Once they *do* adapt, their
shields are very strong; however, to what degree does the
DF truly duplicate, say, a cube's shields in adaptability?
A shuttlecraft's power is very limited, after all.
On top of all that, the DF is about Runabout-sized. The
Jem'Hadar have never had a lot of trouble striking
such sized vessels repeatedly. Thus, unless one of
the DFs knows about the Jem'Hadar's "dorsal field
junction" shield weakness, they're smoked. The Jem'Hadar
could proximity-torpedo some of them to death, then
finish off the rest with beam weapons.
Pain, or damage, don't end the world, or despair, or fuckin' beatin's. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, ya got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man ... and give some back.

Didn't asingle Runabout Destroy a Jem Hadar "Fighter" by firing on it aft quarter where it's poorly shielded and armored. Or is that a non issues here? Based on that I don't see how DF can't win.

That it did, that also helps the DF quite a lot in this.
