SCS will win and very easily too. Remember that an upgraded ECS was almost a match for the Defiant. (Ref: DS9 Paradise Lost)

The vessel he's speaking about was a Hideki-class, a Cardassian military patrolship.
Actually it's a solar system IIRC

The Defiant could pull off similar moves the Mirror Defiant pulled off against the Mirror Worfs Klingon Battle Cruiser. Pull out the Soverigns teeth and hope you don't get gummed to death on the way out?

Yeah, uh huh. First its gotta get close without getting the shit blown out of it, then its gotta penetrate the shields on the first pass, then its gotta hit each and every weapons emplacement, then its gotta get out, all without getting blown apart itself.

Real likely.

Defiant vs the Sovereign? Yeeaahh, rriiight...
The Sovereign could paste the Defiant again and again and again...
After watching Nemesis I'm not sure a Defiant class starship could take out the Sovereign's shields if it had a whole minute's head start!

That was a Klingon ship though. When the Defiant went up against an upgraded ECS it was nearly a draw.

(rolling eyes) Christ, back to this "maneuverability rules the day" crap again, are you? This is the same guy who thought the Feds could stand a real chance against the Empire since their superior maneuverability would, of course, allow them to dodge the hundreds of TLs coming their way. *uncontrollable laughter ensues*
Dear god. I never said that the Feds would WIN, you will see that I accept a swift Imperial victory if you check around.

Besides, this is different. Sovvies don't have the same firing arc as an ISD. Nor as many weapons. A good team on the Defiant-class ship could pull it off. Generic Vs Generic? Then I agree, Sovvies win.
