According to the novels, they're adjusted on the ground, which suggests they cannot be changed in flight. They can be set at least in a range from 1 kilometer to 20, depending on whether the mission is ground attack or dogfighting.Chris O'Farrell wrote:Hey just a slightly relevent question. I know Z-95's have their lasers hardwired into set zero ranges, so the lasers converge at a preset difference. But can more advanced fighters like the X-Wing dynamicly alter their laser zero point? So that the lasers adjust their beam convergence point bassed on a target lock?

IIRC the X-Wing got an upgrade at some point allowing its lasers to change converange automatically so as to compete with the A-Wing and its swivel blasters.

He's right, that's true. They were modified for auto-zeroing as you see in X-Wing Alliance--where only the Z-95 must have you reset the zero-ing in flight for different targets.
