Mayb the next time a scenario like this is proposed you should give the Federation a fleet of Alliance ships of an equivalent strength if you want to examine how the governments react to each other.
The Federation would be losing member systems left an right, not by military conquest, but by signatories who want all of the goods from SW civs. Soon only Earth, Vulcan, and Porclificus Oba IX (Federation assgrease facility) are the only ones left out of 150, with many planets going to the Republic and a few evil yet enlightened worlds going to the Empire.
