Maybe if SF R&D where so inclined they could develop deliberate malfunctions. Why train a few million cadet when you can get one really well trained cadet and duplicate him over and over....... Clones we don't need clones we got the Attack of the Transporter Duplicates. :D

Ah okay. I see where you are coming from. I read it a bit differently. Still, the transporter is a quirky system. Can any stable results come out of it? As well, I wonder if anyone was collecting data at the time of these accidents. One would think so since they would have an vested interest in improving the system in the first place.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might if they screamed all the time for no good reason.
