No, I have not emasculated your argument, because it had no masculinity to begin with. Your misreading was the cause of your misunderstanding. You are now aware of it, so stop bitching about it.Master of Ossus wrote: Look everyone, DarkStar has completely emasculated my argument by cutting and pasting.

1) Since when to drones think?LMSx wrote:They're holograms.
You see, the Borg drone actually *thought* that he was going to be shot to peices, so the holographic bullets didn't do anything, but still killed him.
Just like a placebo.
Or, the "Anti-Placebo Effect From Hell".
2) You make it sound like the Matrix. Your brain thiks something has happened, and your body responds as i it did.

"They" being Jean-Luc Picard? He is only one captain in StarFleet, and an extraordinary one at that. He alone had the foresight to get the Tommygun, and that is because as a regular player in the Dixon Hill PI program, he thinks about things like this. If 'Fleet had sense, they'd start replicating Kalashnikovs and issuing them to starship security crewers because of this.DarkStar wrote:
. . . though when Starfleet wanted to have a weapon available in situations where phasers were useless, what's the first thing they turned to?
Don't be silly. A pistol cannot; but I'd put even money on a 25mm Bushmaster chain gun. Or a (heehee) Vulcan 20mm minigun. Just because a Beretta .380 can't pierce the Enterprise won't exclude any other KE projectiles. But think about a guy with a Mossberg 590 shotgun equipped with slugs-- and an accidental discharge in a shuttlecraft or even a runabout. Or an RPG round. This would spell disaster for the people riding inside, to be sure... in the technical manual, doesn't it say that hull armor is not really used-- it is regarded as inefficient mass-- and that hull integrity is maintained by shielding? Hey, that's primo for energy weapons of all sorts, but a good old-fashioned slug can be problematic. Are you saying a guy with a pistol can crack the hull of the Enterprise?
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!
Grrr! Fight my Brute, you pansy!
