I used to have a model of a Galor, and it looked like there were impulse vents on the trailing side of the forward 'Wings'. I always just thought the warp nacelles were the small assembly on the aft dorsal hull at the tip of the tail section. Plus it would make sense to have the reactors and stuff back there, away from the crew compartments and things. I remember reading something about the D-7 cruisers where they said alot of the crew lived and worked in the forward module to avoid the radiation from the warp reactors in the aft drive section.

I always thought, at least in the TOS, that the hazards of either the reactors or even the warp engines were the reasons behind the way those ships were designed. With a engineering section away from the rest of the ship. It the Galor followed suit then that little tuning fork looking thing could very well be their "warp" engines. That makes me wonder even more about the uprated "Galor" ships that the Obsidian order put out. The ones with the extra set of blades near the back part of the tail.

I also liked the idea, hinted in ST:TMP, that that long neck on the D-7 cruisers was part of just a big photon torpedo gun. In that film photon torpedo ports line up forward and aft of the neck. It's probably a coincidence but considering how the Klingons would naturally be interested in having the greatest fire power possible it didn't seem too far out.
The scorch marks around the ports were a nice touch too.

Those are an important factor why I like this ship so much: it doesn't look like it's just left the factory like the ships in TNG, but used, well-maintained of course but not shiny and bright since warships usually don't have to look like they're brand new.

They really looked bad-ass in that movie. That whole movie looked pretty good except for some of the Federation jupsuits (ack). Too bad it was so
boring.

Because of that movie the D-7 is still one of my favorite Trek ships. It was nice seeing them again in Voyager's "Flashback" and DS9's "Trials & Tribulations" even if they weren't quite as nice as ST:TMP.

Even an episode of Enterprise had something that looked like a D-7.

Ya the old Continuity thing....I think the Trekkies get the inflated fleet numbers from the old Star Trek ship ciombat game by FASA they had 7 variants of the D-7 cruiser with about a thousand built.In the Movies era that is

Of course. Those two are tired of being compared to some of the best sci-fi TV/Movie writers of the 60's, so they're ignoring the TOS.

B&B aren't fit to sharpen DC Fontana's or Gene Coon's pencils.

Actually I think the continuity fuck-up for that week had her
mentioning Klingon WARBIRDS. One of the
B's even admitted the screw-up. Although it was mostly with
the usual "oh well" attitude.

If so I would be they are related to Beevis & Butthead's neighbor, the one with the Winger t-shirt.

oh. Actually I've only seen one ep of Beavis and Butthead, the one where the one of them dies and goes to heaven and bitches out St. Peter. I only made the connection because of their idiocy and the fact that their names are a similar combination to Berman & Braga.
