Nemesis would have been a better movie if....

Okay the Shinzon story is okay, but I think that the whole Reman race is very stupid. They don't fit into continuity. It would have been more Wrath of Like if they included Sela as someone who finds Shinzon and allies herself with him to Kill Picard and overthrow the Pro peace Romulan Government.(Sela is totally against peace). Have included in the Peace process the whole Vulcan/Romulan Reunification plan with Mr Spock included in the cast.

-HaveSela and Shinzon Lure Picard and crew to peace but attack them.

-Have Data get transferred to a new Ship Either as a Commander or Captain. No cheesy meaningless death for my fav TNG character.

damn I'm a little out of it but I'll be back with some more improvements. Post your own too!!

I actually am looking forward to it's release, but the script leaks and the Negative responses have haunted me. This may well be the worst even-numbered Trek movie.

The script destroyed the hope for a decent sci-fi movie.
But after Insurrection I wasn't expecting much anyway.

You know, I'd actually be okay with it if it weren't for the "evil Picard clone" angle. You can have a good villain without giving him a direct connection to the hero.

The leaked script was a first draft that underwent major rewrites a long time ago, much was done to it and the movie. I mean, read the first draft for First Contact then compare it to what the movie actualy was, there was a massive difference between the two, however bits were commen enough you could have easily made a trailer for either and been hard pressed to know which one.

Nemesis would be a better movie if it were Star Wars.

Seriously, though, I think that Data's death needs to be much better than it was in the first draft. He essentially died for nothing, and he was my favorite TNG character.

I also think that there should be more work done to make the other Romulans interesting characters, and for the clone of Picard to be better explained. I also think it would be better if the movie were to seem less random, and more unified.

Nemesis would have been a better movie if the script had been stolen ala Star Trek III and they'd changed the villians to Klingons (or Cardassians, or Ferengi, or *anything* but the Romulans.) They're one of the few antagonists that haven't been totally neutered yet. I expect Nemesis to do the job, though.

I was at last years ST Convention. B&B we're discussing using Sela with Denise Crosby (Denise told us this personally) but they didn't do it for some reason. WHich sucks, cuase Sela kinda rocks.

I assume they didn't use Sela because that would require having to write an actual story good enough for a movie, but also could act as a follow up to her prior appearances.
As opposed to pulling some rehashed, smelly garbage out of their asses.
