We really do need a list of debated topics!

This thread just goes to show how much help a list of topics that we have already debated would be, even if we kept the list down to the basics like Enterprise vs ISD, Worf Vs Chewie or What's the best Way To Kill Wesley?

This list would ,hopefully, stop newbies coming in here and going:

"It looks like they haven't debated [ insert debated into the gorund ages ago topic here], i think i'll start a new debate that has nwever even crossed people's minds"

All we need is a sticky with the list, links to the threads and the results (if there were some)

Wouldn't this save us a lot of time, save newbies from making arses of themselves and and our keyboards after we've banged our heads against them continously after coming across the same old topic?

That would be a good idea. Wouldn't work on the really thick headed ones, though.

I think it would even work on some of the dumb ones. Remember when Loser099 told us that an Executor class ship could be destroyed by two torpedoes?

Well, the ultimate list of debated topics is Mike's site and his hate mail list. The problem is no one actually reads the site before posting on the board.

A short, concise list of recent forum debates and stupid people might be useful, just as something to refer people to, but I don't think it should be a very long or very in-depth. If people really want to read previous arguments, they should just read Mike's main site.

How about a small list presented when you go to make your first thread? Just a nice little blurb like:
"So you want to make a thread. The following topics have been debated to death:
Galaxy Class vs ISD
Federation ground troops (or lack thereof) vs Stormtroopers
...

So before beating a dead horse be warned that unless you have some extremely insightful new comments, you will be mercilessly ridiculed.

I kind of like the self policing that we do. It feels good to flame idiots, it was like therapy for me after a bad day at work. So I say let the fools keep on coming...keep settin' them up and we'll knock 'em down.

I think there was a poll like this before, but between that one and this one, a list of debated and refuted topics sound much better. Still, about one rabid Trekkie a month will get in here and try to "refute" it.
