That would make it a formidable anti-presonnel weapon.Admiral Johnason wrote:Prehaps it generated enough heat to melt the armor.

It was one of the giant balls that killed the tank, and without bursting seemed. When they where fired against the driod's they splattered on the ground to knock out dozens of driod's.

Hrm... I think the thing is that the Gungans are so deceptively advanced. On the surface it looks like they are using primitive technology, but in reality its advanced. Like the underwater Gungan city had to have some impressive technology to function as it was significantly deep underwater and Gungans could enter and leave without airlocks.
The Gungans battle philosophy seems to be to march out on to the open field and hunker down under their portable shield generates and force opponents into hand to hand range if they want to actually fight the Gungans. It's not the best strategy in the world, but it was semi-effective against the battledroids.

I'd say it was quite ineffective. They killed some Battledroids with their ranged weaponry, but their hunker-down men did jack shit. The Gungans were routed up until the DCS destruction.

As for the Gungan-battlestrategy lets not forget, that it was their goal to lure the droid-army away from Theed City.
As for individual fighting-abilities Gungan VS Klingon ...
if taylors from Cardassia, women from Bajor and Ferengi are able to win against the rigged foreheads, what do you think a trained Gungan-soldier or security-officer is going to do with them?

And they were called Boomers! Seems like a strange thing to call a simple EMP shell. And not only that, they blow up when they hit thing! They do appear to have a electrical shock effent when they hit as well as their explosive effects.NecronLord wrote:Yet they punched a big ass smoking blackend hole in the armour of a tank.Howedar wrote:Those blue orbs always seemed more like small EMP weapons to me, not an actual destructive charge.

IIRC the gungan sphere's of death are little biotech spheres with an electric charge, which would have to have a strong charge in them if they are the standard gungan weapon. I'm confused on the theatre shield matter though, I know Ray shields keep out energy and the particle shield destroys matter on impact, but does the ray shield doestroy matter too?

I might mention two things about this more or less dead topic.
1. In the stated scenario, the Klingons are standing in for the TradeFed army. Thus they are the attackers. There would be no reason for the Gungans to ever leave their shields, provided that they could stay between the Klingon's and their city. But I've never heard of a Klingon going around an enemy instead of charging at them, so tis a moot point.
2. Is it right that the shield would fry the Klingons? I don't know exactly what the shield is made of but I assume that the TradeFed's could walk through only because they were armored droids. Am I right or wrong there?
If I'm right, Klingon's charge, die. Gungan's stand there.
