It is. People confuse the "magma missiles", which are balls of plasma shot by coralskippers with the yorik coral missiles used in Ruin to devestate Ithor.
"Magma missiles" are launched from "volcano cannons". It is obvious that they are descriptive names based on looks ratehr then on what they are. Aside from the quote that Connor posted, they have also been said to be plasma in Onslaught, Ruin, the NJO sourcebok, Star by Star, and either hte Rebel lines sseries or Dark Journey (I don't remember which, only that Jaina was talking about how the pilots had had to learn that plasma would keep eating through the ship unlike lasers, which were done doing damage after they hit).

First off, Darkstar was a fucking disease. A plague unto himself on these boards. It was so bad people like me actually came off the Star Wars boards and came here just to try and shut him down. As for the plasma balls, the way I understand thier workings, is that when they impact, they don't always fly off. Sometimes they stick and that overloads the sheilds. Also when the impact with hulls they can burn through (which was quoted by another poster out of the books) This primarily is why they are so dangerous. They've shown space combat many times and the pilots would constantly get blasted by shots and come out unscathed. Rather shitty weapons for a shitty series if you ask me.

Darkstar is ASVS. And as I recalled, SB does the same thing to ASVS.
He might be ASVS, but he seems most well known here at SD.net
You dont go to ASVS, so I don't expect you to be familiar with the Moron's reputation. Try asking someone who IS an ASVS regular about Darkstar/Guardian2000, and you'll see what I mean.
And my poitn about SB's opinion of ASVS still stands.
