I don't think we'll ever see "Star Wars Versus Star Trek" any more official than fanfics and modded games of either franchaise.

What would be even better is if they did follow the ICS, but even a Soveriegn Class starship is a close match for an ISD.

And in this statement alone is the oxymoron of it all.

One can't follow one part and assume another part. Either you make it look close and ignore what is canon, or you follow canon and have battles be no more then what it takes a guy to sip on a Coke.

Give it 20 years, Lucas dies, gives a relative the rights, they become addicted to crack and need the money, and a vs movie does well sparking all of hollywoods orginality. We'll have it.

Perhaps.

But in my opinion, it would be too difficult to pull off. There are so many characters, planets, species, etc. in both franchises, so many voices crying out for Imperials this, Borg that (no offense Rob

) that it would be next to impossible to placate everyone on both sides -- or get outside viewers to come see it as well.

Best we can hope for is to continue having fanfics like Conquest, Starcrossed, Reign of Terror, Manifest Destiny, and, yes, The Best of Both Worlds.

Nah. I say it's just another Galaxy-class, or any other craft with the general saucer and engine-tube design, doing a fly-by of the Cube from undernieth. If you look at the bottom..."prong" thing, it looks as though there's a bit of empty space between it and the saucer section/main body, and it also looks as though the two prongs aren't paralell to one another. It'd be as if the frame was taken right after a stray Borg shot cut one of the engines of a Federation ship.

Hey, I wouldn't have a problem so long as I was a major consultant on the Borg.

I think the "gag inserts" would have to be of more noticeable scale before the concept really took off. The Alien skull in the movie "Predator 2" scene is something that I would qualify as sufficient to bring the concept into "official" status.

This reminds me of a very bad vs. I plugged a few years ago in Space Battles....

Some how Knue Reaves gets plugged into the Borg's unimatrix, and as a result the entire collective is exposed to the Wachoski brothers travesty.....

They would certainly do it wrong as well. How many of you seriously think the "lasers can't penetrate our navigational deflector shield" argument wouldn't come up during talks of the film.....and do you really think it would be struck down? LOL I bet it wouldn't..........

The Wars fans will die of boredom over the technobabble, to start with. Secondly, one of these three things will happen:

1) Picard asks the Empire to stop, please. It does.
2) Federation ships are uber and wipe out the Imperial ships, somehow.
3) Federation ships don't stand a chance (realistic), so they find some technobabble solution to wipe out the entire Imperial fleet.

Yeah, I did. But then I lost all files with chapter 5 part 3 on it and I didn't bother retyping it. I managed to recover that yesterday (whew!) so I may resume work, and if you guys want me to, I'll post it here.

Basicly (I've written a chapter every once in a while, and each chapter is gigantic, it's been so long since I wrote the first chapter I can hardly remember it, lol) the Romulans were doing some illegal subspace experiments in a hidden base in the neutral zone when it backfired, blowing up the facility and making a temporary artificial wormhole. The Imperial Remnant (in the middle of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, btw, but at the point where the Vong are ignoring the Empire) spots the temporary wormhole and stabilizes it with some gravitic fields using a few Interdictor cruisers. Realizing that they don't have enough strength to oppose the Yuuzhan Vong if war begins, the Empire decides to quickly annex some territory from the other side of the wormhole to build up more shipyards and vessels there, but since they need most of their ships to defend if the Vong attack, they only send two fleets in to the Alpha Quadrant.

War ensues...there's a little subplot with a few Dark Jedi, and it's going to turn into something major, but no spoilers

The story's not done yet, though it's quite long.

Probably the worst part are the names of a few of the characters. I have a hard time making up names

While a lot have realistic names, some have, well, somewhat slightly silly names (whoever heard of a Jedi Knight named Praxis???)...but hey, I started writing this thing two years ago, before I joined this forum and was 'enlightened'! lol.

I've been considering posting my fanfic here, though I'd bet you guys would be harsh critics

I tweaked some things in favor of the Federation so Trekkies wouldn't complain (yes, everything is perfectly realistic, trek ships get their rears whooped, but I made sure it was the Imperial Remnant so they're far outnumbered by the puny Federation ships, and I made sure I put a few idiot Imperial commanders next to the good commanders, and even gave Trek a few Jedi who decided to protect the innocents in the Federation

). But it fits all the stats on StarDestroyer.net and the SW2ICS. Should I post?
