Federation capships cannot compare to Empire capships:

* One photon torpedo = 64 megatons max.
* One quantum torpedo = 192 megatons max.
* One heavy turbolaser on an Acclamator troop transport = 200000 megatons.

Both have shields on a similar power levels as their own weapons.

The Federation is squashed like a bug. Try SW starfighters versus ST capships.

Empire. No contest. Over in 5 minutes or less due to all the reasons stated above.

One of the ones who voted fed is probably Darkstar's spy sock puppet.

It lasts more than 5 minutes but only because the Imperial Captain is wondering if the crew are playing a joke on him.

Well no. That is out of character with the Feds. Likely scenario, the Feds use their universal translator on all known languages, Emps figure out English and demand the surrender of the Feds. The Feds say no and try diplomacy again. Then the Feds get blown away.

The whole scenario is out of character with the Feds anyway. There's no reason the Feds would start a pre-emptive strike against an unknown alien species. More likely Imps go aggressive and kill the Feds, and after a lot of bureaucracy and a few starbases slagged the Feds dispatch Picard to try to negotiate and he gets killed. Who knows what happens after that.

There is a spy among us, and I smell a rat. We will see in due time who the lone dissenter is.

In about two minutes, Ghost Rider's going to come in with his not-so-witty scolding about thread necromancy.

Until then, we must find this mole!

First, we know that He Who Must Not Be Named has a sleeper account here, so that's one, but who's the other? Typo-style accidents could account for it.

Heavy Turbolaser Firepower has yet to be definied by the ICS.

So far we only have the power levels of 20 year old transport of their LTLs and MTLs.
MINOR EPISODE III SPOILERS

The new ROTS ICS, written by Dr. Saxton, should give us a solid number for HTLs, as the blurb on the official site has stated that General Grievous' flagship, the Invisible Hand, will be one of the ships covered by the book, and that ship features heavily in the space battle over Coruscant. Stats for the Venator-class Star Destroyer are also likely to appear, so in a few months we will finally know exactly how powerful the guns on SW ships-of-the-line are.

Honestly, very cool :D .

I really wouldn't mind seeing hard numbers for the guns just to get an idea of what the shields have to be able to take.
