Well no. That is out of character with the Feds. Likely scenario, the Feds use their universal translator on all known languages, Emps figure out English and demand the surrender of the Feds. The Feds say no and try diplomacy again. Then the Feds get blown away.

The whole scenario is out of character with the Feds anyway. There's no reason the Feds would start a pre-emptive strike against an unknown alien species. More likely Imps go aggressive and kill the Feds, and after a lot of bureaucracy and a few starbases slagged the Feds dispatch Picard to try to negotiate and he gets killed. Who knows what happens after that.

Stats for the Venator-class Star Destroyer are also likely to appear, so in a few months we will finally know exactly how powerful the guns on SW ships-of-the-line are.
