Say, in Trekmiss 1, I take it that Galaxy getting rammed is the Odyssey? I haven't seen the episode in years, so refresh my memory. Just why wasn't it shooting, again?

Isn't the rationale that the Galaxy got killed by ramming is because the Galaxy's shields were down because the Dominion used phased polaron beams? Dunno why it "wasn't shooting", how long do we see the Galaxy and was the Galaxy just getting into position to use its main phaser array on the top of the saucer section?

I don't know if that's much of a rationale. The shields were down at the time, but given the effectiveness of other ramming episodes it doesn't seem that the shields are too effective at stopping such attacks.

At the time, the Odyssey was attempting to disengage, which may explain why it wasn't firing.

I'm sure he's doing his part 2 as we speak. He made one of my original shortly after I re-premiered it on spacebattles last year. It led to both of us getting banned!

Thank ye, Mr. Dalton! One of these days, I'll have something original filmed. Unless I'm doomed to parodies!

The funny thing is that no one on the Wars side ever claims such moronic bullshit equivalent to "auto-aiming" or "Trek main characters obviously can't hit shit, therefore ..."- the whole *point* of trekmiss and now trekmiss 2 was to put the shoe on the other foot and see how the idiots on the other side like it. I'm sure his statement of the obvious "hey, look, Stormtrooper's miss!" (because god knows how few times main characters in SW miss) poorly edited POS will be downloaded by all of five people.

Yes, in one episode he shot a girl two feet in front of him who was practically standing still

The really funny part is that at least many of the SW misses have perfectly rational explanations, like letting Leia escape to track her back to base.

Of course. Because he has nothing else to do with his time.

Sure I can make one up . It would of course involve looking through all the times Riker fired a phaser, and the times other people fired phasers at Riker and seeing the accuracy of said phasers. Riker being the variable that is constant, we conclude that somehow Riker causes everybody around him to miss like shit, obviously a side effect of his stint on Riza.

I'm kidding btw lol.

Oh and btw, looking at Riker is hilarious, and looking at Picard duck an ultra-slow phaser shot is hilarious too, but honestly it doesn't add a serious point to the debate except to mock people who make fun of stormtrooper inaccuracies or insist on auto-aim IMO. You can always nitpick and choose hilarious situations where someone should have been able to hit, but doesn't, and you can do this with SW too (battledriods anybody?).

That being said, the title of the board is "mockery of stupid people", so good stuff good stuff lol.

The thing is, Trektards who like to shrug at stormtrooper accuracy can't possibly defend themselves against the clinic of poor marksmanship that was "Nemesis." No one who watches the films could possibly argue seriously that stormtroopers are worse than UFP/Reman personnel in those instances.

I think Data is one of the few to have any kind of accuracy. He shoots his banana phaser by brining it up like a pistol, not from the hip, and he never carries a phaser rifle in the movies, only a banana phaser.

By this time, the geniuses that did the starship VFX shots for Star Trek had apparently decided that badass volleys such as seen in TNG The Survivors were way too much work, and elected to instead go with the "we can fire a single phaser blast every few seconds. maybe a torpedo or two if we get a double serving of fellatio this week."

Watching both those videos made me realize that most races in ST must have gone through some sort of devolution, especially in the eye/coordination-region. I mean, those big warships are slowly gliding from side to side, and three pursuers can´t get a lock on them?

The 20th century spaceprobe vs. a Bird-of-Prey made me lol. And unlock old memories of actually sitting through ST V. :P
