IIRC this tread was going about size comparison. I dont give a fuck about weapons or notRogue 9 wrote:It doesn't. What matters is the firepower the thing packs. Aw, yes. Comparing the Death Star's size to that of a Borg cube is all nice and dandy, but dare to mention something bigger than the Death Star, and oh no! Wanker!!Utsanomiko wrote:Because our Resident Whore is so desperate to wank over a victory from something in field of whoring he's willing to pull up the most irrelevant examples available.Mange the Swede wrote:Who cares about that fucking Dyson sphere anyway? It was build and abandoned, and its builders perhaps became extinct or something. Either way, it doesn't have any relevancy whatsoever.
Because I was, you know, claiming the Borg were best at everything. Oh wait, what the fuck does the Dyson Sphere have to do with the Borg? Precisely jack shit.Properly-developed people accept that 'their stuff' can't be best at everything and have enough social sense to shut up about it.
I can't begin to express my level of depression someone online may not like my opinions or comments in a science fiction thread. Woe is me!I suspect that he (as always) is so detached from the idea that the internet involves intteracting with people it doesn't occur to him that when real people read the crap he writes for his self-deluded chest-puffing they think 'what a fucking tool', as opposed to 'hahaha wow, that's hilarious and brilliant and we think you're as great as you pretend you are'.

If Walper only jumped at opportunities to verbally wank in some kind of aloof, self-applauding manner on even a *somewhat* infrequent basis, I wouldn't have noticed. I also woundn't have noticed if his post wasn't a direct smiley-ridden retort to a comment about the size of a Borg cube. Gee, I'm sure nobody else around here is tired of him doing that...
Of course you don't give a shit; I already told you you have no sense of attachment or reality of discussions/conversations here, I recall others have already told you here you treat everything like you can be an ass and just laugh it off like we're videogame characters. Everyone seems to already know you don't want to hear your fanwhoring, except for you.Walper wrote:I can't begin to express my level of depression someone online may not like my opinions or comments in a science fiction thread. Mr. Walper, as I stated in my post, the knowledge to build a structure like the Dyson sphere could very well be lost. We haven't seen anything similar in the Trek timeline and no more has been found. Alas, the Dyson sphere is an anomaly in Trek and doesn't really earn a spot in the debate.

Have a problem with my particular sci fi interest, perspective and board behavior? I really don't care. The vast majority of my interactions and SDN contacts are quite friendly and enjoyable (even with those I have often butted heads with). You're the exception rather than the rule. Don't expect me to lose sleep over the old "Walper's teh fanwhore!?!" mentality.Utsanomiko wrote:*snip*

The thread in question was about simple size comparisons, not debates about numerical avaliability or military prowess of said structures. I mentioned the Dyson sphere because it is also an extremely large structure, which is on topic.Mange the Swede wrote: Mr. Walper, as I stated in my post, the knowledge to build a structure like the Dyson sphere could very well be lost. Since the thread is purely about size comparisons, what's your point?Exactly. And what does it have to do with any of the other major players? Again, jack shit. And, the Dyson sphere doesn't have any military worth at all.Robert Walper wrote:Because I was, you know, claiming the Borg were best at everything. My sentiments as well.Oh brother.I can't begin to express my level of depression someone online may not like my opinions or comments in a science fiction thread. Woe is me!

And Lo!
Walper once again doesn't want people to get the wrong idea of him, and that wishes to in essence backpedal!
He says it's size comparison, yet for some reason the Entire thread is about military installations!!!
Quick someone since Walper is bringing up Dyson's Sphere...bring up Ringworlds!!!!!
Or Galactic level constructs of the XEELEE!!!!
Yes, Walper...you're just not trying to one up people

It's the fucking self-pleased congratulatory way that you do this shit that aggrivates the other people whom you perceive as nothing more than simulated video game characters.

Honestly, I don't know how one would go about treating others as "video game characters". Since I don't have this problem with alot of online contacts (many of whom are from SDN), I can only speculate that this is a rather unique perception with a select few. *shrugs*Spanky The Dolphin wrote:It's the fucking self-pleased congratulatory way that you do this shit that aggrivates the other people whom you perceive as nothing more than simulated video game characters.

That's how I'd describe myself. I mean come on, you can only take this subject matter so seriously all the time.Chardok wrote: Funny, when I read his posts I always get an impression of "Neener neener *wink*" sort of like Col. Mind you, I've been making an effort to stay away from the more serious debates in sci fi.

It's the way you blow everything off, particularly in debates. Everything said to you just rolls off your skin and you reset your position of interaction, because we're not real, just NPCs for you to talk to.

So what you're saying is that in regards to this online board, I don't allow myself to get overly worked up about matters that in the end, really aren't that important in life (like "teh Borg cube wins!11!!")? I'll consider that a compliment, thank you.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:It's the way you blow everything off, particularly in debates. PS: Mods, maybe split this? While I'm compelled to respond certain posts aimed at me, hijacking the thread was not my intent.

Technically I could address the fact that the Hijack was waaaaaaaaay back when you mentioned the Dyson Sphere, which was just you wanking for no reason then to go "Ha, take that!"Robert Walper wrote:So what you're saying is that in regards to this online board, I don't allow myself to get overly worked up about matters that in the end, really aren't that important in life (like "teh Borg cube wins!11!!")? So we'll just have this in one shitpile instead of two or three.

I really don't get it. This is the Star Wars Versus Star Trek forum. The topic was about size comparisons, and I brought up Star Trek one.Ghost Rider wrote: Technically I could address the fact that the Hijack was waaaaaaaaay back when you mentioned the Dyson Sphere, which was just you wanking for no reason then to go "Ha, take that!"
Qualifying as "Ha take that!"? I suppose it does, but then so does the Death Star against the Enterprise or Borg cube. We know it's big.
I'm sorry, but IMHO, I'm sensing a double standard here...

I'm glad you;'re thickminded stupidty doesn't grasp to STAY ON TOPIC.
Did he ask, for a comparison of ALL ST/SW craft...or did he just ask for one particular.
So you want to bring up a red herring by this is an ST vs SW board, dumbfuck?

I really didn't think expanding upon the thread topic (size comparison) would yield such hostile results. I regress.Ghost Rider wrote:I'm glad you;'re thickminded stupidty doesn't grasp to STAY ON TOPIC.

1.)Everything was shipped secretly to Endor just by Xizor's shipping company.
2.)They mostly transported just raw material that was transformed into the parts for DS-II directly at construction site.
