On another note. There is another board that opened recently, some of the Trekkies from Narendras board have started to regroup there.

It is here.

This is starting to resemble the Inquisition hunting down pockets of heretics. :D

I have registered there, and am awaiting the outbreak of serious Trektardism to unleash mockery.
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! Bah, I have no time to go around from trektard hiding place to hiding place with my cleansing flame. Let them announce themselves, and they will be burned down.

I recommend changing "Trekkie" to "Vs-Trektard" ... we're all trekkies in that we know our trek and watch it (even when it's shit). 8)

Well the old forum still has one open location to post. Right now I am beating up on someone who is claiming hyperdrive is just 1.5c. Anyone care to join in the fun?

I used some very simple math and pointed out that 1.5c means it would take a mere 8 months to travel a single light year.

Yeah, I noticed something funky was up with the new site. I went to post a couple days ago, and I got an error message stating that only admins were allowed to post, or something of the nature. At least I got to post some on it, unlike G2K's site, where I registered but never got a confirmation.

I'm amazed when I see people trying to seriously argue that 1.5c works in Star Wars if you just make the galaxy smaller. How are you supposed to fit a million inhabited (and untold numbers of uninhabited or uncharted) star systems in a space that you can cross in any reasonable amount of time at 1.5c?

Ah, but you see, everything is a lot smaller in the SW galaxy. Planets are only a few kilometers across, and the people are millimeters tall, so it all fits :)

The really sad part is that propably somebody actually argued that way somewhere.

or just leave out the Vs part period. "trektard" is much simpler and much better sounding.
