It's nice that Walper choose to stuff his ass into his head, and doesn't understand the illogical nonsense that is From Ignorance.
If you exclude evidence which is consider canon, is no different then going in ST you going "I do not accept anything First Contact said about the Borg."
Now if you can get that concept through your thick skull maybe you can understand how illogical it is to exclude canon because the fuckwit doesn't like it.

Which I already pointed out earlier isn't a big deal. If someone wants to debate with a restricted amount of evidence, that's their choice. All I'd ask is that the person remains consistent with their approach.Ghost Rider wrote:It's nice that Walper choose to stuff his ass into his head, and doesn't understand the illogical nonsense that is From Ignorance.

Lovely. People are "fuckwits" if they don't subscribe to your preference of debating using the official canon policy. Are people fuckwits for not liking movies that you like as well? Now if you can get that concept through your thick skull maybe you can understand how illogical it is to exclude canon because the fuckwit doesn't like it.
Robert, when you violate established canon, you become a ignorant fool. That is not alright.

Why is a person obligated to follow the official canon policy? Not doing so is certainly outside of the accepted norm, but that doesn't by definition make a person a "ignorant fool". It's a personal preference.Alyeska wrote:Robert, when you violate established canon, you become a ignorant fool. That is not alright.

Excluding evidence is purposefully being ignorant and lying.
Either one claims iignorance of the evidence and doesn't know or one is purposefully LYING.
Or do you not grasp that is the point of why it's a fallacy.
Nice to see dumbfuck trying to play the wounded innocent, because he doesn't see what is wrong playing the ignorant fool.Lovely. My PREFERENCE in A SUBJECTIVE MEDIUM, such as a movei likes or dislikes has nothing to do with what is established rule in an OBJECTIVE MEDIUM.
Jeez fucking A...if you wish to continue to demonstrate that you were dropped too many times as a kid, please continue.

He is obligated because without those rules, what are we to say what is and isn't evidence retard?Robert Walper wrote:Why is a person obligated to follow the official canon policy? Why not every single bit of Trek Novel...etc is evidence and we throw everything except Lucas' words as evidence for SW?
Gee...the companies make policies of what is considered what is allowed within their universes and what isn't.
Gee, you want to show why being an ignorant fuckwit is not a good thing?
Personal preference is about subjective matter, fuckwit, not determining what are the rules in an objective train of thought.
But please continue to expouse why exlcuding evidence is not being IGNORANT.

It's because it changes the arguement. It's like looking at a peice of a picture. You might think the picture is something COMPLETELY different if you can't see the whole thing. If you restrict yourself to just one part of canon, the only reason would be because you're trying to cut off the rest of the evidence so you only see part of the picture, then can twist it.
Frankly, going by "movies only", NOTHING is canon. AT-ST's are never named, so that name is non-canon. Vader's shuttle is never named, so "Lambda class" is non canon. The Death Star could be a lot smaller than it looks, since we never get too good a scaling reference and everything else is non-canon, right? The Executer's reactor could be powered by a monkey on a treadmill, and there's nothing you could use from canon to refute that.

Doesn't look like anyone has started anything there yet but I just thought I'd give people the heads up.

Jeepers creepers, the rules on that board are even more anal than strek-v-swars. We're going to have to tread lightly. It seems to be set up for the purpose of resolving the issue point-by-point, so this could either be a great victory or a great failure. The division into teams of six members each seems pretty tightassed.
Robert Gilruth to Max Faget on the Apollo program: “Max, we’re going to go back there one day, and when we do, they’re going to find out how tough it is.”
Well I need the debating practice. Although I'm still waiting for a validation email.Jon wrote:Why bother? Old ground rehashed on some shite invisionfree board. Or is it fun? I'm just a killjoy. (in no way related to Kilroy, though!)

Ah okay *nods* I might try to observe a little, if it gets going.Cpl Kendall wrote:Well I need the debating practice. Although I'm still waiting for a validation email.Jon wrote:Why bother? You know the Trekkie rule of thumb. Don't let anyone argue with you if they're smart enough to actually beat you. Therefore, don't send the validation email to anyone from SD.netCpl Kendall wrote:Well I hope it does get going. In the Rules and stuff it mentions how the guy has to personally validate everyone who applies, and only 6 representatives are allowed to debate for each side. I guess we just have to wait until he gets around to it.Cpl Kendall wrote:Good point.Praxis wrote:

Look, we aren't in the business of organizing such invasions. If you want to go debate some idiocy, go ahead, but the only reason I went to that strek place was because it was a new vs site. Forums without such websites attached, I have no interest in. If you guys do though, that's fine, but don't make it an "sd.net" thing.

If he does He'll probably only validate trolls and idiots, then say, "See? These Warsies are a bunch of loonies!"Winston Blake wrote:In the Rules and stuff it mentions how the guy has to personally validate everyone who applies, and only 6 representatives are allowed to debate for each side. They revised the canon page!

It's too horrible for words.
