In Risk if you know the other guy will eventually win, your best bet is to kill him early. An even better bet is to let the other guys kill him and reap the spoils. They may or may not have enough left to turn on you and wear you down (and you almost certainly never die).
Yes, and no. If he doesn't team up with Thrawn then he may get killed early leaving him at a dissadvantage. but if he backes Thrawn up then when one of the Data-Spock alliance is weakened he can move in to nab their cards. really its not going to be Thrawn all the way it will be hotly contested

Well yes true but then why would Thrawn do that to begin with?

Since when has he ever had any officer fall on thier sword just for the heck of it so to speak?

I think it would ultimately be between Data and Thrawn, but Thrawn would definately win in the end.

That would be cheating and would definantly cause a fight. Also it woud also be so obvious that no one would be fooled. doulbe and trip;e 6's every time remember James Bond on Octipussy
I remember that the guy Bond played had fooled the other person he had been playing repeatedly.

Kind of reminded me of Jordan in The Great Gatsby, in that he knew that the people around him would not suspect him of cheating.

I don't think Spock is given enough credit. He could probbaly do more than what has been said here, I think he could probably do some serious damage, if given the right territories.

I think the real action here would be in the set up phase, who is placed where, and so forth.

I got more thoughts but I gotta go, more later.
