I maintain that those two are closet warsies at best or trolls at worst. While it is somewhat amusing to view their unsupported drivel, it becomes tiresome to see the flaming responses to those who obviously enjoy bathing in them.

And if you haven't noticed there are many threads on these boards that have ripped apart Darkstar's claculations. He only got banned form here because he constantly evaded points and when Wong said "debate me or i'll ban you" he replyed " Go ahead and ban me them you big pussy" (whoops!). The sort of debate he wanted was a debate where he could back out claiming victory if Wong insulted him. He ran away from Wong's challenge of a straight up debate while calling Wong a coward for not accepting his terms of debate, which included the escpe clause!

Guys, stop giving them attention, since that's obviously all they are here for. We've seen these arguments before and seen them shot down many, many times. You will not convince them/him/her of anything. All that will happen is that you will get more and more frustrated. Just ignore them and they/he/she will go away.

It is actually very easy to determine that turbolasers cannot possibly be lasers. Lasers are merely a coherent assembly of photons, and photons have several important characteristics:

They always travel at the speed of light in vacuum, which is hardly surprising since they are light.
They do not interact with one another. If two lasers intersect, an interference pattern may appear in the region of intersection, but they will not impede one another in any way. The beams won't "bounce off" one another, stop at the collision point, or change direction or speed. They will continue as if nothing had happened.
They do not radiate energy in any direction other than their direction of travel. In other words, you will never see a laser in vacuum until it hits something. This is how laser pointers work- you can see the red dot but you can't see the beam. When lasers are filmed for dramatic purposes, they are invariably filmed in an extremely smoky or dusty environment, so the viewer will see the laser scattering off the dust and smoke. In a vacuum, a laser will always be invisible.
Obviously, turbolasers cannot possibly be lasers. They exhibit none of the characteristics of lasers. They travel much slower than the speed of light, they interact with one another (as demonstrated by the combining Death Star beam), and they are visible in vacuum. To put a twist on an old saying, if something doesn't walk like a duck, doesn't look like a duck, and doesn't quack like a duck, it probably ain't a duck.

Who cares if it's from Wong's site. It still gives the propeties of lasers and shows that turbolasers do not operate to these propeties therefor aren't lasers. Just like phaser rifles aren't projectile weapons with grooves in the barrel to improve accuracy.

Since he's claimed that the Empire is smaller than the federation we can expect to see the "their galaxy is much smaller than ours" argument to get arund his ridiculous 1.5c crap. You should know by now that they don't change their arguments.

Then how did they get from Coruscant (near the center of the Galaxy) to Kamino or Tatooine or Naboo or Geonosis or Endor or Yavin. People have all made those trips. All are in the Outer Rim. How if they go a measly 1.5c can they do that? And it's a canon, indisputable fact that they did do this.
